What type of base coat goes best wirh this epoxy based primer?

What is the heat resistance of this paint?

I have used this paint in my engine bay of an 1985 Chevy c10 and over raw parts like new steering shaft and fresh sand blasted steel. However, I have not used it direct to engine block. Based on my experience with its durability and epoxy’s reputation with engine builders I wouldn’t hesitate to use it. This paint has held up against brake fluid ,oil, antifreeze and transmission fluid. Make sure you clean with wax and grease remover before coating.

I have a door panel that has surface rust. Primer and sealers are confusing. Can somemone tell me what primer and sealer to use bf painting?

You need to sand it down to get rid of any rust or it will come back and ruin your paint job. Primer is usually used over bare metal...primer/sealer locks down any body filler or putty, and prevents it from reacting with the new paint. You will be miserable if you get a paint reaction. From experience.
