8Bitdo Ultimate 2C - Amazing features for a low cost
I had been looking for a controller with Hall Effect sticks and turbo functionality to shiny hunt in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. I was recommended this by a friend, here are my thoughts: Pros: - It isn't light. It has an excellent weight to it that makes it feel very high quality. - It is 90% compatible with Switch 2, something I was having a hard time finding. - The turbo is very easy to use and works incredibly well, it turns Metroid Dread into a bullet hell. - The sticks feel different than a normal Pro Controller, but in a good way. They are easier to move thanks to the Hall Effect, and from what I have read, almost completely drift-proof. - I haven't used them, but the programmable buttons are a nice add-on for people with unique setups. - Buttons are very responsive, and also have an excellent weight to them; they aren't too sensitive nor are they delayed. - If the controller is left unused for a certain amount of time, it turns itself off to preserve battery. - Speaking of battery, the battery life is also excellent. I believe it has around 50-60 hours of life before it dies. - The controller also connects to PC if plugged in and works the same. Cons: - The controller is not able to turn the Switch 2 on remotely. You have to turn the Switch on by hand, and THEN connect the controller (this is that 10% it isn't compatible with). - Occasionally, the controller will connect weirdly, and the Switch will think that it has low battery, and only the D-pad will work. This is easily fixed by turning the controller off and on again but can be annoying. - There is one game that I have found the controller to not work with, and that is Apex Legends. Every input is delayed by about 3-5 seconds, including the sticks, and I'm not sure why. This is the only time I have had it not work. Overall, so long as you are not planning to play Apex Legends with this controller, I highly recommend it for anyone wanting Hall Effect sticks and turbo functionality. It is a steal at this price.

Excellent form factor at an affordable price.
This is, hands down, the single most comfortable controller I have ever used. The buttons are clicky and responsive, the sticks are smooth and particular, the battery life is excellent for my needs, and it has been compatible with my Switch as well as my PC. It's a bit on the bulkier side, but I have above average sized hands and find this controller literally *LITERALLY* just sinks into my hands. It's crazy. Love it. Heavily recommend.

Excellent controller -Smooth,Comfortable, Fun to use.
I recently got my hands on this blue controller, and I have to say, it’s been a great addition to my gaming setup. When it comes to functionality, the controls are spot-on. The buttons are responsive with a satisfying click, and the layout feels natural whether you're playing fast-paced action games or relaxing with something more casual. The joysticks offer precise movement, making gameplay smooth and enjoyable. Another thing is how comfortable it feels. The overall build feels solid in hand, not too heavy, not too light. Overall, this controller delivers exactly what you’d hope for, it has good looks, great feel, and reliable performance. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it for a long time to come!

Quality Beyond the Switch Pro Controller at Less than Half the Price
For $30, this controller is absolutely remarkable! While I understand that the official Switch pro controller has some specific features that these lack such as HD Rumble and NFC, I find the quality of these 8bitdo ones to be significantly better. I currently have 2 of these, with a third on the way. In all my tests the 8bitdo controllers have provided consistent and accurate inputs throughout. For people looking to use this for PC games, the digital triggers will make this incompatible or ill suited for quite a few of them. That said, if you're playing on the Switch, these are the triggers your console was designed to use. There are far too many third party Switch controllers using analog triggers. The Switch cannot read analog input values, so the extra effort of pressing those triggers down is wasted on it. The rumble that's present on the controllers, while not Nintendo's HD rumble, is plenty immersive and works well. Gyro is also a much appreciated feature to have at this price point. Wake up works quickly for me every time. Don't forget to give them a little shake, or it won't work. Looks shouldn't matter as much as any of the above, but it most certainly doesn't hurt that these controllers look fantastic in every color. I will update my review, if I run into any early wear issues, but at this time, I strongly recommend these for playing on the Switch.

Great controller, wonky bluetooth
I love this little controller. It doesn't have all the fancy stuff like rumble and analog triggers, but that's fine because none of that fancy stuff really matters most of the time. The d-pad is the best one I've ever used since the Dreamcast one, it has a good weight to it, and it feels nice in the hands. It is also blue. The only issue is the bluetooth hates linux for some reason. It'll connect just fine but it won't be detected as an input device. Wired mode works fine. But sometimes I don't want a dumb wire. They could probably fix this with a simple firmware update. Or maybe it's a linux driver issue. I don't know because I'm not a driver scientist. If you want to upgrade the firmware on it you need a Windows partition or you need to borrow your buddy's $4000 gaming laptop that he regrets buying. That makes me sad. If you're using it on Windows, it doesn't need a bloatware driver/software package like a logitech mouse or virtually any other input device these days. It just goes. So that's awesome. All of the controller options can be configured with button combos rather than software. I think the $60 version of this controller needs bloat/spyware so I don't want that one. It would be five stars if the bluetooth wasn't cranky. But the bluetooth is cranky. So it gets 4 stars.

Best bang for your buck
Bought it for my Switch 1 and it has been a BOON! Compared to OEM pro controllers, this one here fits the bill as reliable and easy to use. There is a minor set back where the controller can soft lock itself from being used, thanks to software incompatibility how the Switch recognizes it, but it can easily be remedied by downloading it's software update on PC and connecting it and updating it. And wala, good as new.

Great Feel and Color
I love this thing! It's an inexpensive, solid controller that feels great and has a cute color. Pros: + Works with Switch and Switch 2, as well as PC! + Comfortable fit, even for big hands + Bumpers, d-pad, sticks, and buttons all feel great. Well-suited to many game genres. + Has rumble (but not HD rumble) + Includes a matching USB to USB-C cable + Kid-approved Cons: - No analog triggers. This doesn't matter for Switch games, but is not ideal if you use it for racing games on PC. - On Switch, no NFC scanning (Amiibo), IR camera, or LED notifications. - "L4" and "R4" buttons do not seem as helpful as the paddles found on controllers like the 8Bitdo Pro 2 - Can't completely replace a joy-con for some party games (such as Nintendo Switch Sports)

Does NOT Wake Up Switch 2
Hardware wise, it feels nice in the hand. Unfortunately, the device could NOT wake up the Switch 2, as advertised. Went to a website. Not as bad as multiple Chinese websites, but confusing as F like many. You have to find your match your device to a long page of different controllers, segmented by operating system (Windows, MacOS, etc.). Found multiple images that looked like my device but what the F is the difference between "Bluetooth Controller" and "Wireless Controller". Aren't they the same?! In any case, I picked selected "Bluetooth" since that's what listed on the front of the box. Once you are on the page, you have to download a Zip file, extract it, then run the updater. Zip files are known to be embedded with malwares. Once you have overcame my fear and the updater is active, you have to press a series of keys on the controller to enter update mode: L1 + R1 + Start then wait for the LED to blink. The Start button won't blink, which is what I expecting, since there was no other lights visible. Nope, there is a tiny little light the front, next to the pairing button, facing away from you. Sigh.... Once the device is updated, it shows V1.01. I have no idea what the F it means. Was it updated from V1.01? I thought the website said v2. In any case, I tried multiple times. It does NOT wake up the Switch, which was the only reason I gave this brand a try. Unpacked and repacked within 30 minutes. Sending it back and feeling satisfy snatching my money back from this inept company.

Great controller.
Way more comfortable than the joycons and feels sturdier than the Nintendo pro controller. My daughter likes to fight me over who gets the "good controller" for mario cart, so that's probably a glowing recommendation. Battery life seems petty decent, I plug it in every couple days.
