Peace of mind
My temporary, home made truss was barely adequate compared to the FlexaMed. I was concerned before it's arrival that the pad may too soft or that the size I ordered may be wrong. But, the pad is firm yet flexible and the size is just right. (Don't measure your hips or waist but around your pelvic area) I've done a little fine tune tweaking for comfort but that's to be expected. A very good product and I have thought about ordering a second one to have when I wash this one. I don't EVER want to use my home made truss again! UPDATE: I did order a second Flexamed truss to use while I washed and dried the other. Update 03/09/21 I purchased two of these in July, 2019 and they have help up extremely well! I wear these trusses 24/7 and they have not frayed and have only "fuzzed" in a few spots. The elastic has not lost it's shape or elasticity. Excellent product!

Works well for supporting hernia. No issulles there. Sizing seems to be a small issue though.
I ordered med for a 34-35” waist and the waistband had to be totally snugged on tightest setting. The strap that goes through your crotch and up and across your butt had to be pulled through the waistband and wrapped around it before securing. It’s almost like they mislabeled a large and sent me that. Anyway, I washed it in a washing machine warm cycle, and med heat dry cycle and it shrunk a bit. I repeated this 3 times and now the thing fits properly. So if yours is too loose, it’s easy to fix. The cost seems a bit excessive for such a simple thing (a jockstrap is $10-15 in the sports store). I am trying a cheaper brand for the second one i’m getting, just so I can have a clean spare. It really does work to support the hernia. I have backed off on really gut wrenching activity, and I take it easy in the weight room. I still play hockey, run, hike, motorcycle off road etc, but I ask for help lifting truly heavy things now.(until the surgery this winter)

Works well and comfortable mostly!
As my first truss, I did not really know what to expect. I suppose I still don't, but it has comfortably solved most (90%) of the minor popping out issues I have experienced over the last 2 months. I like it"s adjustability. I am a tall thin frame person, with a bluejeans size 35" waist, and the medium size fit me fine. I have replaced the removable pad in this truss, with several other pads, including a hard plastic piece with rounded edges, a polyurethane foam piece I shaped myself, and a bean bag hackeysack. All seemed to have some benefit, but none was perfect for every situation or body stress position. I am still looking for the perfect pad to slip in to the nicely made pocket in this truss. Do I recommend this item? Yes! ..... I will be ordering another one soon, but I also wonder if there are more expensive ones with metal support designs that would be somewhat more effective in controling the herniation all the time, but I suspect they may not be as comfortable as this one is in most situations.

Poorly designed leg strap
This inguinal right side hernia support belt is very comfortable to wear. It does a very good job of keeping the hernia in place and not causing you pain when the hernia bulges outward. The one thing that needs improvement is the strap that goes around the leg. There is velcro on this strap and it is suppose to be attached to the velcro around the waist. However, I found this did not work well. There is no velcro around the back of the belt to attach the leg strap to. Also attaching this strap to the waist does not allow it to pull the hernia in and toward the back. This is very poorly designed part of the support and could easily be improved by adding the velcro to the strap so it can attach to itself around the waist strap or create a sleeve where this strap would go into and attach.

Remarkably comfortable for support it provides
This is very comfortable for the support it provides. The elastic band rides low on the hip so it doesn't interfere with bending over. Works well worn under jeans unless they are really tight. For maximum comfort, consider wearing this over stretch cotton knit boxer briefs such as those from Dream Catcher. Without the cotton covering your legs, the strap going underneath can chafe a little when walking. I got a second one to wear while swimming. Before putting it on each time, I had to position the foam pad down low so it would push in the right place. After surgery you can remove the foam pad supplied and stuff the pocket with pillow stuffing (or cotton balls?) to help keep the swelling down.

This is Worthy of 5 Stars ... Plus!
I am a male 5'8', 155lbs and have had a groin hernia for 20 years with zero problems until a few weeks ago when I lifted a heavy item. I immediately realized that "something was wrong". While I did not experience the majority of symptoms associated with this injury, I now had localized pain and discomfort. By eating smaller meals, more often and drinking Aloe Vera Juice & Licorice Root Tea (which both taste awful) but are available directly from Amazon I wanted to treat my hernia until I have the time to visit my physician. The FlexMed belt provides the necessary support and immediately allowed me to walk and perform physical activities by reducing the pain. It is easily adjustable to position directly over my hernia. The velcro closure allows me to adjust the compression when needed. To reduce rubbing and possible irritation that can occur I placed a small piece of lambs wool around the leg strap but realized I can wear it over my boxer shorts and receive the same support and reduce any discomfort. This is a superb garment and provides the support that I needed. I wear it all day and only take it off at bedtime. It does not show while wearing pants and no one can tell that you are wearing it.

I called this my "Magic Thong"
I suffered a single side inguinal hernia that was uncomfortable and at times painful. It wasn't deemed an "emergency" situation so between occurrence and surgery was a delay of several weeks. This magic device helped me immensely through that period of time. I lived in it except while taking showers or periods of time when it was drying after washing. It was pretty slim so I could fit it under my dress slacks for work without any significant problems. So the good side is it worked well for me. The downsides? It was somewhat uncomfortable. The strap that goes front the front to the rear is sturdy (good) but mildly rough so it irritated the skin in the inguinal fold region (bad). Also the item is heavy duty elastic material that is hand wash only and can't go in the dryer so it takes many hours to dry. I typically washed it in the evening before I went to bed and it was mostly dry in the morning after I'd shower, but I live in a very dry climate. However there were some nights the hernia was very uncomfortable and I wanted to wear the truss to bed which created a minor dilemma. In hindsight I should have bought two, but at the time I didn't know if it would work or how long I'd need to use it. In summary, for my situation the positives more than outweighed the negatives and I was happy with my purchase. If the other inguinal side goes in the future I'll definitely be buying a couple more of these.

Can't recommend this too highly. Works perfectly. Comfortable and effective. Well-priced.
Wasn't really sure what to expect when looking at the on-line photo . . . . . but have been completely delighted since opening the package and actually putting this hernia truss on. Does exactly what it is designed to do perfectly. Well-built, comfortable, well-priced. Has held my hernia in place since day one with no discomfort. Love the fact that you can wear it over your boxers. Superior item at a fair price.
