It does a good job in relaxing my mind and sleep.

I was skeptical about this product, since the website and other pages tell how this product doesn't cross the blood brain. Well I have been taking this product for a long time, and I can say this really helps me relax at night and reduce stress even more. I take Holy Basil, L-Theanine, and this product, so people go, "How can you tell which one is working?" Well I started on the L-theanine first, and added holy basil, and this product is the newest one to add to the mix. I take this one in the morning, and one during dinner, and by the time it kicks in at night, I am more calm and relaxed, where I can fall asleep better. When I was just on the L-theanine and Basil, I was calm and whatnot, but this added GABA adds to the calm and stress reduce. I have noticed since I added this product to my daily intake, that my brain calms down, like it is not racing all over the place, stress is reduces and maintained, so when I am stressed, I don't blow up, it is more level. I also have noticed, I stay asleep longer and remember my dreams more, which is always good, and when I wake up I feel refreshed, not tired or anything. This product does help in the calming department, and on top of the other herbs (Holy Basil, L-theanine), all 3 really pack a punch to keep me calm all day and night at a level pace!

I switched to this from Now's Calm formula, which has about half the GABA content of these. I am really happy with these, too. I had to take the others 2x daily. With this, I only need to take it at night.While GABA does little on its own for anxiety, it makes a HUGE difference when paired up with supplements that interact with GABA in your body. I use it to boost the efficacy of valerian root, 5htp, kava, and also prescriptions for anxiety/depression (I do not take this all at once and do not recommend anyone else do it either - this is just a list of what GABA supplementation has boosted the efficacy for in the past). The catch here is that those supplements/drugs won't work very well if your GABA supply is low. In my case, it appears that my body doesn't produce enough of that stuff, so I supplement with it.For my purposes... this works GREAT.

I have take GABA within a drinkable sleep aid and didn’t have any major issues but with these I have heavier eyes when I get up. Perhaps too strong for me but I do get a decent nights rest paired with ultimate ashwaganda. Overall, with those two together I can honestly say my anxiety has subsided. My reactions lowered but I’ve created the perfect environment to do so in my brain. As a PhD student in MindBody Medicine and a therapist focused on not only emotional well being but physical through nutrition, exercise, sleep, and neurological well being, I can tell you that eating healthy for my body, staying physically active, and challenging my brain every day, I’ve created the perfect environment for my brain to stabilize damaged neurons and promote cell proliferation. Along with helping it balance neurotransmitters with supplements as such has only improved how I feel, my emotions, my level of anxiety, and how well I sleep. Nothing is a miracle but if it doesn’t work for you maybe it’s the wrong dosage (you should feel messed up) or maybe some other things need to change for it to work best or perhaps the problem is not that specific neurotransmitter so it may not be right for you. Melatonin is naturally made in our brains but we can help our sleepiness with low amounts to supplement. If you take it religiously your body learns to stop making it so start low. Only I take is 3mg. GABA is a neurotransmitter related to anxiety and sleep... the fight or flight mode in our bodies. If you don’t feel a difference no matter the dosage then it may not be a problem for you. If you struggle with depression 5-HTP is a neurotransmitter related to depression so perhaps try it. I personally cant take that because it makes me irritable after a few days. Just pay attention to your body and mood.

I've been having sleep issues (can't stay asleep) for quite some time... after getting other forms of alternative therapy, I decided to add GABA to the list (no drugs, no other herbs). I was 100% skeptical, but kind of desperate and I thought for the price, it was worth a try. I've tried the Kava, the Valerian, the different herbal teas at night, with marginal success.I got the capsules last Friday. I took one at bedtime for the last 4 nights. And I slept. Like a rock. Like, sleep so good that you wake up in the morning and sort of ask yourself "did that really happen?"Now, maybe it's the accupuncture, the hypnosis tapes, the new nature sounds alarm clock, the better sleep habits, the warm baths at night... I don't really know for sure. But I can say with honesty that whatever happened these last 4 nights has been so remarkable that I will be doing all the above for the rest of my forseeable future, and include the GABA.

Because of this product, I am able to handle the stress and anxiety that I have had ever since my hospital stay. Before the GABA days I was awake from the middle of the night on, only being able to sleep during the day. And since U was in the hospital because of my heart I was not doing well at all, that is until this product. It has saved my life and my sanity.

A psychiatrist at the Amen clinic suggested I start taking GABA (I am not a medical doctor, just repeating what he told me) to help with the wired, itchy feeling of my antidepressant. Swanson has the best product for a great price and it has consistently done what it is supposed to do.
