No more rodents
Bought 1 gallon twice. In two weeks nearly all adult squirrels and chipmunks missing. Baby squirrels and baby chipmunks were still showing up. Decided to purchase a 5-gallon bucket to save money. Bait boxes no longer need refilling. Have 4 gallons left. Only a baby occasionally is spotted. Amazing product. Wish I would have tried it years ago.

Works great!
This stuff is amazing! I live on 6 acres and was overrun with ground squirrels. I do not have any other animals so I put the bait in all the squirrel holes and kept replacing the bait as it got eaten. I noticed a difference in activity after 2-3 weeks. I kept putting Kaput in the active holes. It took about 6 weeks before I had no more squirrel activity. I had previously used a squirrel trap and caught over 150 squirrels in 4 years but they stopped going in the trap and just increased in population. I highly recommend this product if you want to eliminate the squirrels on your property. I recommend you use bait stations if you have other animals. FYI this bait does not work on wild rabbits.

Squirrel Candy!
My problem is Eastern Gray Squirrels (Virginia) but you’d think this “ground squirrel” poison would be effective against the entire squirrel spectrum. Not so. I had been experiencing a steady stream of squirrels on my wooden deck. They run along the wooden handrail and sharpen their teeth by gnawing on it, causing damage. I anchored a tray to the handrail with screws and filled it with this product. Thereafter I watched tray after tray of this “bait” being devoured by hungry squirrels. If they returned to an empty tray they would hang out waiting for a refill. I watched this behavior through my kitchen window (10 feet away) for approximately one month. A very controlled situation. Through distinctive markings I recognized the same squirrels returning time and time again. This product is a total rip off and ineffective as a squirrel control.

Very effective against Arizona ground squirrels
I will repeat what another reviewer wrote, because it exactly captures my experience. " I would say at least a month is required to really understand just how effective this stuff is. I would opt for the 25lb container next time, it goes much faster than you think." I had a major ground squirrel infestation... holes all over the place. I'd pour about half a cup down each hole, and then a week later I'd cover over the holes that were clearly no longer being used, and pour more bait down holes that were still active. It took me most of a 25-pound container to treat about a half acre of heavily-infested territory, but after about 6 weeks there were no remaining active holes. I live in southern Arizona. I figured that our ground squirrels are pretty similar to California ground squirrels, so this product should work here as well as in California. And I was right... it did. I've seen reviews that complained that it didn't work against chipmunks and so on. That is hardly surprising. Different rodents eat different things, and you shouldn't be surprised if a ground squirrel poison does nothing against chipmunks. But in my experience, this product is VERY effective against ground squirrels. One problem worth mentioning is that my 25-pound container was packaged and shipped in a lightweight cardboard box. When it arrived, the box was torn, the lid of the plastic bucket inside had come off, and little red pellets were spilling out of the package. Fortunately, not much product had been lost. I plan to order this again. Next time, I will try to communicate with the shipper in advance, telling them at least to strongly tape the cover of the plastic bucket to the bucket, and either use a stronger box or to reinforce it with a lot of packing tape.

Kaput
I bought this as a trial run along with the Wilco box (2). At first I was very hesitant. Be patient it took more than 5-7 days to notice a difference. I watched the Wilco box daily and the squirrels were hitting it was like a buffet line. My yard is infested with squirrel's like it was a play ground even walking right up a a squirrels less than 2 feet. Finally I witnessed my first victim. I will update when I purchase another container adding two more Wilco boxes.

Patience! It Eventually Worked For Me
I had ground squirrels digging under my AC compressor platform next to my house. As other reviews suggested, I place about a quarter cup of this bait down new holes as I found them. It took awhile, but eventually the digging stopped. I cleaned up their mess and there has been no squirrel activity since last summer.

Need 100# sacks to be effective
It will take A LOT of poison to kill off ground squirrels. They need to ingest it for several days before it starts to be effective. We went through 3 large buckets in a week in 4 feed stations in 1000 sq. foot area and only noticed a very small decline.
