Espresso timing and weighing perfection
I tried a few and this is the one. I wanted to easily measure the weight and timing when making an espresso, and this scale is great. Low profile to fit under the cup well. It also has a physical switch to intentionally set the mode (unlike the other annoying units with confusing screen-based multifunction buttons that often don't work as expected) Once set, it stays set to espresso mode (or any other desired mode). Gloriously simple! Turn it on, set your cup, it automatically tares to zero and it is ready for the brew. As soon as the brewing process begins, it starts timing at the first few drops, weighs the espresso, and the timing stops automatically when the brewing process stops. It holds the weight and time values for about 30 seconds afterwards. A little more expensive than the cheapo brands, but it does exactly what I want and it does it well. Very highly recommended.

Very nice scale for a fair price!
This seems to be an under mentioned scale when looking around on the internet for good coffee scales. I appreciate its speed and accuracy, and the espresso mode works quite well when dialing in my shots. For pour over it fits just about any cup I’d want to put on it. I’m not a fan of using anything but the manual mode for my pour over, as I am fine with just manually starting my timer. It looks sleek as heck and has a bright and easy to read screen. Not much I could complain about. I even liked the little travel case it came with when I brought my pour over set up with me while traveling.

solid built with great functionality
I have to change my review to 1 star. This is horrible piece of equipment. It constantly shuts itself off during the most important time - espresso making. First I thought it needed more charging, but not it doesn't matter, it keeps doing the same thing. I regret buying it. I wish i could replace it

A well built & responsive scale in a compact package!
I needed a well-designed scale that was durable and small enough to fit under my portafilter. The Normcore Pocket Coffee Scale V3 hit that sweet spot of portability and durability. The display is high quality & the battery lasts quite a while! The Good: What Works Well Premium Quality: Crafted from anodized aluminum, giving it a "heft" and finish that's leagues better than plastic scales. It truly is built like a tank. Drip Tray King: Actually fits under a bottomless portafilter on a small espresso machine! Measurement Speed: The espresso mode detects the first drop of coffee almost instantly. Physical Buttons: Uses tactile physical buttons and a mechanical wheel. The Not-So-Good: The "beep": One minor gripe is that if you prefer to work in silence, the scale tends to reset the "beep" setting back to 'on' every time you power it down. Water Sensitivity: While the silicone pad covers 95% of the surface, the scale itself is not fully waterproof. If you have a major spill that gets into the side buttons or the USB-C port, you might have issues. Pro Tip: Calibration Routine: Normcore includes a 100g calibration weight- I make it a habit to recalibrate every two weeks.

Normcore Pocket Coffee Scale V3 is now part of my daily ritual
The Normcore Pocket Coffee Scale V3 has quietly become one of those tools I use every single time I make coffee. No thinking. No debating. It just lives on the counter and gets used. Which, honestly, is the highest compliment I can give a coffee accessory. It’s accurate, responsive, fast, and feels well built without being bulky. The pour over mode in particular is excellent. Clear, stable readings, reliable timing, and none of that jittery nonsense that makes you question your life choices mid-bloom. Espresso mode is good, but a little fiddly. Switching between weighing beans and espresso takes a moment of button logic every time. Not hard, just not quite intuitive. You get used to it, but there is a short “wait, which mode am I in?” pause that becomes part of the routine. My biggest gripe, and the only real one, is this: in espresso mode, the second you remove the cup, the scale forgets everything. Time gone. Weight gone. Like it never happened. That’s not great when you’re trying to dial in shots and actually look at what just occurred. I really wish it would either hold the final time and weight or let you recall the last reading. Even a few seconds would help. That said, for my workflow, this scale still absolutely nails it. It’s compact, reliable, fast, and does what I need far more often than it annoys me. I reach for it without thinking, which means it’s doing its job extremely well. If you’re serious about coffee and want a dependable, well-designed scale that works beautifully for pour over and very well for espresso, this is an easy recommendation. Just don’t blink when you lift the cup.

Quality! Substantial metal unit, travel case, 3-sided silicone cover, and 100g weight
Nice substantial scale, made of aluminum or similar, controls and charging port on rear. Comes with a silicone cover, zip-up travel case, 100g weight, USB-A to USB-C charge cable, and detailed instruction manual. Bottom the scale has a quick reference for operation. I like the fit and finish of the Normcore scale, glad I went with a known brand as there are SO many knockoffs and generic brand scales out there. Like Normcore's other products, this just oozes of quality and thoughtful design. It's made of solid metal (aluminum?). The cover extends side to side, and overhangs over the rear to protect the switches from drips. (See pic.) Bonus: the silicone cover discourages lightweight glasses from "wandering" due to the vibration my KitchenAid KES6403 makes when the pump kicks in. Works fine with or without the cover. I have only tested it in the "espresso mode" where it will set a tare weight when you put empty cups on it, then automatically time and weigh the result as coffee flows into the cups. (Timer does not account for preinfusion where no liquid is produced.) Very easy to learn, and easy to use. I don't have a V60 so I haven't been able to crack the pourover (weight mode, ratio mode) use yet. It's a little small for my Sowden SoftBrew pots anyway (but fits the KES6403 drip tray just right; see pic). It IS petite so some of your fancy espresso glasses may require you to put it obliquely with each in a NE/SW corner arrangement like my Blomus espresso glasses. (No need for this arrangement with my vintage USN wardroom espresso demitasse cups.)

Love the angled display and ease of use
After several weeks of use I’m quite satisfied with the Normcore V3 scale, which I use exclusively for espresso. I chose the Normcore V3 because of the mechanical wheel used to select the various modes and for the angled display. I use M for manual to measure out the beans. I set the cup on the scale press T on the front and it tares to 0. Now I add my beans about 18.5 grams. I then grind my beans and then just for fun I reweigh to see how much my Eureka Zero Mignon grinder retained. I then shift the scale to E for espresso, I position it under the porta filter, place my cup on it and it auto tares. The first few drops cause the timer to start along with the scale. The angled display is easy to see as I watch my bottomless porta filter flow and color – beautiful. Time and weight vary with the type/roast of the beans. Likes: • Mechanical wheel to select modes and weight measure – grams or ounces • Scale seems sturdy while being sensitive and accurate – based on my previous scale used. • The three-sided rubber pad does not move around or slide, it is secure. • Love the angled display, very easy to see. Hmmmm • Concerned that its not waterproof – my bottomless porta filter occasionally channels a good stream of espresso on it, so far its been fine. • Don’t really care about the fine silicone case, or flow modes used for pour overs, or that it can weigh up to 4.4lbs • Price is a little high, but a super deal compared to others I like it, I recommend it, I hope it lasts. I’ll close with words from the enclosed instructions from Normcore – “Do not collide vigorously” – one of several precautions listed. 😊

Good build quality, great size, but insanely inaccurate for an espresso scale.
In my opinion the scale is well built, the aluminum body and clear display make it feel more expensive than it is. I liked the different modes of use and the timer function. However, it’s a pain to use. For starters, when I tried to calibrate the scale I could never get to that setting, and the included 100 g weight read 100.3 g instead of 100. I used it to weight beans and measure extractions, and it would suddenly shift weight from .3 to .5 g while being in a stable surface. In my short experience, it is not an accurate scale, instead of improving my workflow it made it more stressful. I ended up returning it. I would suggest looking at other options.

Creo que vale la pena
De momento estoy muy contento con ella. Es muy robusta y se la ve de calidad premium. Aunque el precio es elevado, creo que vale la pena.

Solid build quality, and simple but elegant interface.
This scale feels incredibly solid and high-quality. While it’s not exactly cheap, I can’t imagine spending more on a scale since I’m thoroughly satisfied with this one. Its design is also much better than most, and the automatic sleep/low-power mode is a real plus.

Najlepsza w tym przedziale cenowym
Bardzo solidna jakość wykonania. Możliwość kalibracji z dołączonym odważnikiem. Dołączone etui ułatwia i zabezpiecza wagę w podróży. Dobry wskaźnik stanu baterii - miga na ostatnim etapie, czego nie znalazłem w innej wadze z tego przedziału cenowego. Jasna instrukcja obsługi.

Very impressive
So far, very impressive. Once you work out how to turn off the annoying beeping (push in the wheel on the back) it performs really well Nicely made, metal body with a good pad that actually fits. The display is bright and the measurements are very accurate. Not sure why you'd need to spend more than this.

Great build!
Simple to use and the build quality is 10/10. The beeping is a bit loud but can be turned off. The size fits beneath most coffe machines. Easy to use. No complaints.
