My AI told me to buy more of these
I'll be honest, I didn't expect much from this little sensor. It's small, it's affordable, and it just kind of sits there looking unassuming. But after running a multi-week calibration comparison with my AI assistant analyzing its data alongside some well-regarded sensors, I can tell you this thing punches well above its weight class. What's actually inside (since nobody talks about this): - Sensirion SHT30 for temperature and humidity — the same chip family used in sensors costing 3-4x as much - A dedicated MEMS barometric pressure sensor (6A2 package). Yes, this tiny device also does barometric pressure - NXP JN5169 Zigbee SoC handling communications That pressure sensor alone is a hidden gem that most people don't even realize is there. You're essentially getting three sensors in one tiny package for the price of a fast food lunch. The data doesn't lie: My AI assistant ran it head-to-head against a Sonoff SNZB-02WD and a Third Reality Zigbee sensor, both SHT40-based devices that are widely regarded as accurate reference sensors. The Aqara tracked within half a percent on humidity and a fraction of a degree on temperature across an extended overnight comparison window. That's not luck, that's a well-calibrated sensor doing its job. Unless you intend to build your own ESP32 devices, or you need a display, this is going to fit the bill. I will be installing it next to the shower in our master bathroom to automate turning the fan on and off based on humidity levels in the room. On the negative reviews: If you gave this less than 5 stars, one of two things happened, either you received a dud (it happens with any hardware), or your standards are so high that you're probably also unhappy with your thermostat, your weather station, and possibly the weather itself. For the price, this sensor is genuinely difficult to beat. Zigbee nerds: pairs instantly with Zigbee2MQTT, exposes all three measurements cleanly in Home Assistant. No complaints whatsoever on the integration side. Buy a few. Your only regret will be not buying more sooner.

Works perfect for my application
I wanted to know the temperature and humidity on our lanai. I already had some Aqara devices so this seemed like the perfect fit. Super easy to connect. I have a big thermometer out on the lanai already. It seems to display the same temperature. So I’d say it probably more accurate than my thermometer. It is pretty far from the hub, plus it has to go through cinder block walls and it works with no issues. It’s nice and small. To be honest, I forgot where I put it out there. I’m going to have to find it eventually. I would purchase this again without a doubt.

Do the job but concerned with the battery.
The form factor is very small, therefore it can be easily installed anywhere. The Aqara Home App don’t allow to visualize the battery level. Everyone must have been using the Xiaomi app. (Mi Home) A way to check battery level is from the Apple Home app. (For iPhone users) With the battery straight out of the box, first measurement was 75%. Now, 4-5 days after, battery level is at 62-64%. It’s a short period of time Toni or if the device is not capable of measuring the battery properly or not. But seems like it’s important to use good batteries afterwards, like energizer for example. About the accuracy, it seems to be aligned with a pretty accurate device. I did get two sensors right away. They were having a small difference one to another. And these were, for testing, side by side. Conclusion : These are good for indication. For truly accurate measurement, I don’t think these can fulfill the need. It’s cheap, seems to not do well with battery life. Temperature can be trusted, humidity is I think a rough estimate, and battery level seems totally off.

NOT compatible with SmartThings
I bought this based on the reviews of others and I don't get why they don't have issues. I was able to get mine connected and reporting values BUT it won't stay connected for any significant amount of time. Sometime it quits after a couple of hours and sometimes after a couple of minutes all while sitting within a foot of the hub. This is with a v2 hub and the new SmartThings app if it matters. This is in no way a bad reflection of the device or Aqara as they do not claim to work with SmartThings. The device itself is super small, looks great, and, when it was reporting, seemed to be accurate enough. Aqara would make a killing on these if they supported SmartThings. I can't find anything else as small and as cheap with z-wave or zigbee that does both temp AND humidity.

Works well
I have what I would call a non-standard setup. I don't want anything to do with any type of proprietary hub for a couple reasons. One is I don't want to get in bed with any company for an extended amount of time if I can help it. I want to be able to buy what I want and when I want without worrying my existing hub will support another product from another manufacture. Another is I am inherently nervous about products on my home network that I don't fully control. Call me old fashion but that's how I am (note: I am not an extremists, just would rather be pulling all the strings with the stuff I buy). With all that in mind, when I started my home automation journey I did a lot of search and first deployed OpenHab and then migrated to Home assistant. These compact little sensors work well with both platforms mainly because of the integration of zigbee2mqtt within both the OpenHab and HA environments. My use case at this time is for bathroom humidity. My son likes to take long hot showers (as do I!) and no matter what I say, he will not turn on the fan. Frustrated by his lack of compliance and because I was just starting my automation journey, I decided to win the battle with technology! Now with this little guy installed in the bathroom and when the humidity reaches a certain level, the fan automatically turns on! No fuss, no muss, and no more telling my son to turn on the fan! The best part about it is there is nothing he can do about it. Ha! Daddy wins the day! All in all this product has served me well and after 6 months of use the battery percentage is still registering in the high 90's. Worth the buy if you either own their proprietary hub or are willing to put in a little bit of work to make it work for your solution.

Purchased two, one does not work - Update, second failed after just six weeks
I purchased two of these Aqara Temperature and humidity sensors plus one door sensor for use with Home Assistant. Installation and setup in HA was easy however one the temperature & humidity sensors and the door sensor would not stay on-line. Replaced the worthless batteries that came with all three devices and had to separate my Nortec controller from my Raspberry Pi before the door sensor would work. Placed the temperature and humidity sensor that wouldn't stay connected in several different locations but never could get it to stay connected for more than about an hour. The other temperature and humidity sensor worked straight out of the box with no issue. With such a track record of 50% defective, I cannot recommend Aqara products. (Note, all my other zigbee devices, which consist of many different brands, have never presented any issues whatsoever.) Update – the temp/humidity sensor that initially worked without issue has now died six weeks after installation. Energizer battery I replaced their battery with still reads 3.2 volts as it did out of the package. In the words, battery is not the issue. It appears these Aqara sensors are just junk. Aqara did contact me after my initial review and sent me a replacement sensor for the one which would not stay connected out of the box. The replacement has worked for the ~4 weeks since I got it but given this most recent failure, I’m betting that in about two weeks, it too will die. I purchased the Aqara brand sensors based on the recommendation of a certain Youtuber who’s videos on Home Assistant I like. Apparently, that was a mistake.

Very Reliable
Great value and the Aqara sensor stays connected to my Smartthings v3. If you have a Philips Hue hub I would recommend unplugging before setting up your Aqara sensor. The Aqara sensor prefers to be paired directly to the Smartthings v3 hub first. Update: I'm using a custom IDE on a Smartthings V3 hub and I am experiencing zero disconnections. If you have a Philips Hue hub: power it down first, before syncing your Aqara sensor. The Aqara battery is still reading 97%-100% which is incredible. I'm using these sensors to automate window ac units combined with Securifi Peanut Smart Plugs. The GE window ac unit's thermostats are highly inaccurate and reading the sun/outside temps vs inside temperatures. If you are concerned about reducing the life on your window ac units/safety: Set a long delay for it to turn off, so you are not short cycling the units and stressing your rated smart plugs. Don't use wifi smart plugs. Always use Zwave+/Zigbee smart plugs, so you don't over-saturate your network with wifi devices. The Zwave+/Zigbee protocol is far more reliable vs wifi. I'm working on implementing and replacing Smartthings with a RPI4 with HA or Hoobs for local control. You can also integrate Smartthings with HA/Hoobs if you prefer to keep Smartthings. Update: Ordered a second sensor and it came with a dead battery. I happened to have a new Energizer CR2032. Everything works fine. The bad battery that came with the sensor would only power the Aqara for 10 minutes.

Range Limitations, poor battery life
I recently purchased 4 of the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensors to integrate into my home assistant system. While the device offers basic monitoring capabilities, I have encountered several issues that significantly impact its performance and reliability. Range Limitations: The sensor's effective range is notably limited. In my experience, when placed more than approximately 30 feet from the Home Assistant Zeegbee receiver, the sensor struggles to maintain a stable connection. Beyond 35 feet, connection drops become frequent and disruptive, which is particularly frustrating for users with larger living spaces. Accuracy: The temperature and humidity readings provided by the sensor are adequate but not exceptional. For users seeking precise environmental data, this sensor may not meet higher accuracy standards. Build Quality: Based on my experience, I find the build quality of Aqara products, including this sensor, to be subpar. The device feels cheaply made, which raises concerns about its long-term durability. As for the battery compartment well it just sucks. Changing the battery can be difficult. The slot is a problem I found using a quarter or maybe a house key keeps from rounding it off. Helps. Zigbee Network Compatibility: Despite having a well-established Zigbee network with extenders in place, the sensor's range issues persist. This suggests that the device may not fully leverage the mesh networking capabilities that Zigbee is known for. The lack of a standardized protocol across different manufacturers seems to contribute to inconsistent performance among Zigbee devices. Recommendation: Given these challenges, I would not recommend the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor unless it is placed within direct line of sight of your Zigbee hub or dongle. For those requiring reliable and accurate environmental monitoring over a more extensive area, exploring alternative sensors with better range and build quality would be advisable. In summary, while the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor offers basic functionality, its limited range, average accuracy, and questionable build quality make it a less-than-ideal choice for comprehensive smart home integration.

Ho avuto l'opportunità di testare l'Aqara Sensore di Temperatura e sono rimasto molto soddisfatto delle sue prestazioni e della sua affidabilità. Easy to set up
Already had the Raspberry Pi and ConBee 2 so adding the Sensors was a no brainer. So far so good after 4 days. LQI and RSSI helped select the best location for Pi.
