I've tried out several different types of buttons from many companies including the likes of IKEA and a few other companies from Amazon and they all suck compared to these. Their main issue is that they all "sleep" to try and save power so if you don't use them regularly, like multiple times a day, they'll go to sleep and you'll have to hit them twice to get a button to register. These just work. I have a button next to my front door that I have set up to turn all my lights and my TV off so I can just hit one button on my way out. I use this naturally about once a day. All the other buttons I've tried you have to hit twice. These just work like you expect. Even "worse" I have a button at my desk that turns some task lighting on at my desk if I want to get lots of light on whatever I'm working on, that button can sit idle for days or up to a week sometimes, it always just works. Unlike the listing says these are compatible with Home Assistant, you don't HAVE to use their hub. They're very simple to set up in home assistant, fairly sturdy so far I haven't had any of them fail yet. No disconnects or any issues after getting them set up. They can be a little fiddly to get connected in Home Assistant but I think that's just my setup. They're a nice size, easy to push the button, they don't look really cool or anything but in the same aspect the don't stand out either.

The device works with SmartThings it's just a pain to do. All of the KBs written are for the old SmartThings; however, I believe the solution that got mine working was the following drivers by searching Google for "Smartthings Channel obmaz" -> the first thing that shows up should be his GitHub -> From within Github you will see a URL halfway down the page that states "You can enroll the channel and install edge drivers by using invitation URL" -> From here you click the Available Drivers Icon -> wait a minute or so for the page to load -> Click Install the driver titled "zigbee-aqara-button" -> This is where the unknown nightmare of pairing starts... I believe the issue is first you need to wait a few minutes for the driver to load to your SmartThings. From the Smart Things app click the Plus button, Click Add Device, Click Searching for Devices -> From here, hold down the tiny button at the top for roughly 3 seconds the light will flash blue then let go of the tiny button, and every one thousand and one press the button and promptly let go and repeat until the device shows up. If the searching for devices times out, go back to the room where you started to add the device and make sure that the device didn't just show up. I hope this helps! Note: If you continue holding down the tiny button for too long, you will just keep resetting the device versus every one second keeping the device alive. Also, make sure that you are close to the SmartThings Hub at least 15 feet from it, and are connected to the same Wifi Network as the hub!

This is a nice switch that works well in the Aqara ecosystem. Just be aware that it is an old model. The updated model is the "T1" mini switch. It looks identical but uses the latest Zigbee 3.0 protocol as opposed to the rather old Zigbee 1.2 protocol used by this original version. The T1 version is also firmware upgradeable in the event that the Mini Switch needs to be tweaked for security or compatibility reasons. This version is not. All that said, how does this older switch work? Very well. I like the design. The shape is attractive and the button click feels good. It is precise and not mushy. It integrates into Apple Home for automations. In my case, I keep one on the nightstand next to my bed. A single click, combined with a Lutron lamp dimmer, turns on the lamp next to my bed at 10%—enough to see but not enough to wake me up if I need to get up in the middle of the night. A double-click turns on the lamp to 40%—enough to help me wake up in the morning without blasting me with light. And a long press turns the lamp off. This works without fail. No flakiness or inconsistency from the button. Would I recommend it? No, I'd recommend the newer T1 version. For just a few dollars more, you get a better, more up to date, more future proof Mini Switch. But that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with this one. As of this writing, Aqara seems to have pulled the T1 version from Amazon while they blow out this older model. But the T1 version is available at Best Buy. And once the older model is sold out, I would expect to see discounts on this one. That goes for the T1 versions of the Aqara Temperature sensor, Water Leak Sensor, and Door and Window Sensor too.

Didn't need their proprietary hub. Paired with home assistant with zigbee just fine.
