Has anyone used this pole for painting? is it strong enough to paint with?

No, not for me. The plastic angle piece broke the first time I used it for painting. Now looking for a metal one.

The stated weight of 3.3 pounds is inconsitent with other poles of this length- cany any confirm the weight?

I would say the advertised weight is approximately correct. This is the best pole I have ever found for holding up to serious use.

Will this pole accept the Unger brush/squeegee?

Yes, if you purchase the Unger brush & squeegee combo attachment that is threaded. They also sell one that is only click snap, which is not currently compatible.

What is the diameter of the screw end where the attachments go? (Want to know if I can use it with my current attachments. . .)

It's a standard ACME threaded tip and should be compatible with any standard threaded attachment. Typically, these are 3/4" to 5/8", and the pole will work with both sizes - the 3/4" will just be a tighter fit.
