Coby CXCD109 Personal CD Player with Stereo Headphones, Silver

I bought this for use in my first grade classroom. It is used daily by six-year-olds and I have had no issues with it. They can operate it just fine and after a month of use we are still on our first set of batteries.

Clamshell top difficult to open easily -- because button release works awkwardly. Sometimes must pry open with fingernails.

I purchased this Coby Portable CD player as new andreceived it sealed and new as advertised.The seller shipped it quickly and securely.I like the slim design and color. I chose silver.The quality of the sound is great.My only complaint is that the connection for theearphones is not secure enough and apparentlyit keeps losing its connection causingthe sound to go dead.If I wiggle it or push it in harder, the sound returns,but I have to do this too often to enjoy a disturbancefree sound.I didn't pay too much for it, but wish I wouldhave done more research before purchasing.I guess you get what you pay for.

Short battery life, does not have "resume" controls. This is pretty basic stuff. If you need more features this is not for you. Wouldn't be surprised to find out this is something first generation from the '80s.

Everything was perfect. I bought this product so my students can listen to books on CD's while they read them. The price was OK and so now I have enough for a small group or individual low readers to be able to read books and understand text that they would not have been able to read by themselves. I could also buy different colors which I tied to different types of stories.

Didn't really like anything about this. Didn't last, couldn't select tracks. Would not recommend this product.

Great gift

I have no idea what happened to this thing. It just doesn't work anymore. I changed the batteries, nothing. Swapped out cds, nothing. Very frustrating. The first one I bought (same brand, make, model) lasted about 6 months before it got lost at the airport, but this one didn't even make it 30 days. Disappointing.

Purchased with the sole view of listening to audio books. Having looked at the reviews and considered the price we gave it a try. A big surprise on arrival was that it came with a set of over ear headphones which are good enough to listen to "books" on. I cannot comment on the reproduction of music but it certainly copes with audio books very well. The battery life in the player seems to be OK as once it gets switched on it stays on for a while.

I made sure I read the reviews on the above before purchasing, as I have never heard of COBY. Unfortunately, there was a downside to this portable CD, which was not mentioned in any of the other reviews. The problem was that if you moved while listening to a particular track, this would cause it to jump. Its an annoyance, but apart from that, a good buy.

I was very pleased with the quality of this CD player. Its a nice size, handy to take on holidays etc and very good value for money,

Only point of dissatisfaction is when listening to a book it appears that you can only "pause" to retain your place in the story. Should you switch off, you have to fast forward having remembered the digital recorded number which is tiny and not that easy to read.

Bought this for my dad who's 92, and he (and I) find the lid very hard to open. There is a plastic release "button", but you have to hold it down in a very particular way, with the edge of your fingernail before it pops open. Cheap crap.
