This is a high quality, larger sized security peephole for front doors. It has an inside moveable cover to prevent anyone with the appropriate lens from peering into the home from the outside. The square frames on the cover and surrounding the inside and outside lenses give it a uniquely classy look. Like most peepholes, the view is slightly distorted by the less-than-photographic-quality lens and fish-eye/wide-angle design (objects are closer than they appear!), but the view is larger than the standard sized peephole, so no complaints. It comes with a decent quality forstner-style bit to drill the hole through the door, which would work great (I assume) for any solid wood door, but was a little tricky on my "modern" metal-clad, Styrofoam-filled door. I drilled from the inside until the center point of the bit pierced the outside metal cladding, then drilled from the outside, using the little pierced hole to center the bit. BUT, when drilling from the inside, by the time the bit had found its way through the Styrofoam, the little outside hole was not perfectly in line with the inside hole. So, the peephole unit would not sit flat on each side of the door. I had to file the metal a bit to align it perfectly, but this was not a problem since the frame more than covered the enlarged hole. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and installation.

Easy to install. Drill your hole with the drill bit provided, screw it in with the metal clip driver provided, position however you want, clean up your mess. Took about 5 minutes. Only note is try to drill your hole as straight as possible!

Peephole feels solid and high quality. The glass is ridiculously clear and with a larger diameter 26mm, you definitely can see more compared to a 16mm. The included drill bit is solid and works well and no, you dont need to make a piot hole. Night time view out is crystal clear as well (mine looks slightly "blurred" is due to my storm door aging plexiglass, but even with my plexiglass, the image is still quite clear.This is technically a "one way" lens as you really can't see inside from out. Which is a huge bonus!

Love the size and magnification. Happy that it has a peep hole cover.
