Bread slicer is GREAT!
The slicer is safe to use, works great, and is adjustable too! I bought this for a sight impaired friend, as it wasn't safe for him to try and slice his favorite sourdough bread. This slicer is the right color, white, so it shows up on the counter. It is VERY easy to operate and adjust to the right bread slice size. It's sharp enough to slice bread, but not so sharp that it poses a danger. Cleans up easily, and has suction cups on the bottom that keep it in place. He is THRILLED with it! Not too expensive either!. It comes in three colors, black, white, and red.

LOVE this Bread Slicer! Wish I bought it sooner!
I bought this based on reviews of a sourdough influencer. She had purchased a slicer over $200 and compared this to the pricier one. She said far and above this one excelled in all areas. I agree, the suction cups stick exactly where you put it, (make sure your surface is clean), the guide to send the bread off the slicer is the real deal. It takes 2 slices before they fall away, which is so easy then to grab. Your slices don't get stuck in the hand crank. You can adjust the slicer for your own personal preference on thickness. I currently have mine stored on a shelf. Plan to make a dust cover for it as I'm not a daily baker. The finish is very easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. It's durable, but not so heavy you can't carry it around your kitchen. I thought the blade cut through my bread with razor sharpness, but I tend to bake a softer crumb anyway. It came with 2 tools to tighten and adjust the handle and the slicer itself. I can see why she gave it such a high review!

Wish I Had Bought This Sooner
I picked this bread slicer up after hearing it recommended on a YouTube channel, and I can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations. After struggling with traditional slicing boards and guide systems, I was ready to try something different, and I'm glad I did. This manual slicer works great and produces much more consistent slices than any of the bread-slicing guides I've used in the past. The hand crank is easy to operate, and the adjustable thickness feature makes it simple to get the exact slice size I want. Whether it's homemade sandwich bread or a fresh loaf straight from the oven, the slices come out neat and even. What surprises me most is that I waited so long to get one of these. It has made slicing homemade bread faster, easier, and far less frustrating. If you're tired of uneven slices or fighting with guide boards, this is a tool that's absolutely worth considering. It's one of those kitchen gadgets that makes you wonder why you didn't buy it years ago.

I have a few issues with this slicer
So far, it cuts my both fresh and not so fresh sourdough loaves very nice. It does smash down my loaf and the slice as I'm cutting, but both spring back up. But I have a few issues: I have owned this for less than 2 weeks and the dial that adjusts the slice thickness already has loosened, causing my bread slices to be huge. This means I need to find a perfect size wrench and tighten the bolt under the base. I was not expecting this to happen so early. If my use of the slicer caused that, then I'm suspecting this happens after slicing every two to three loaves. And that is cumbersome to deal with. I also wish there was a guard of some sort over the blade on the top where it is currently exposed. I leave the entire slicer covered with a towel on the counter so that my little ones don't slice their little fingers reaching over it for something. Also, the suction is for real! Super great suction that keeps the board from moving when using, but the suction cups are almost entirely covered by the base of the slicer, so it's difficult to get a finger under there to loosen the suction in order to move the whole thing. So I need to figure out a workaround. My husband has to pull out a butter knife to break the seal of the suction cups in order to move it. Overall, I would not recommend this exact bread slicer without sharing my issues with it. It'll do (as long as I can tighten the dial! If I cannot tighten it, then it is essentially useless for me. But I haven't looked for my wrench set just yet).

It's a beast!
After cutting my hand a second time with a bread knife (the crust of the sourdough loaf remnant was hard and the knife slipped), my husband asked me to find something better than the standard bread knife. After some research, I came across this bread slicer. My first reaction was that it's a little pricey. Then my husband reminded me how much the visit to the ER cost. I was also afraid it would be even easier to cut a finger off. I'm not afraid anymore. This thing is amazing! It slices through my sourdough boules like it's nothing. The blade turns in the opposite direction of the crank, so it literally pulls the bread in and down a little. You still have to gently push the loaf through, but it does the majority of the hard work. It's also easy to keep the pushing hand safely on the far side of the loaf. I looked at other bread slicers, but none could handle the large 9 inch loaves that I make. This slicer doesn't care how wide the loaf is. My husband loves sourdough sandwiches, but neither us are very good at freehand-cutting slices evenly. The guide on the slicer is adjustable so you get even, level slices whether you want thinner slices for a sandwich or thicker chunks for sopping up soup. The suction cups hold the slicer solid on the kitchen counter and come up relatively easily by sliding a fingernail under the edge. It's a beautiful piece of kitchen equipment with the real wood base and painted metal crank house, although I might look into a cover so the blade is not constantly exposed. It comes with good instructions and with 2 tools you might need to tighten some bolts if they work their way loose (and there are instructions for that). Note that if you take the blade off to clean it by removing the Phillips head screw, there are actually 3 pieces to keep track of: the blade, a washer on the back, and the very center that holds the screw. I nearly sent the washer down the drain because I wasn't paying attention. I wish I'd gotten this slicer sooner!

Happy, happy
This little gadget is awesome! No more uneven thickness of bread slices anymore (well, at least not until you get to the end of the bread loaf, ha, ha). My only disappointment is that it doesn't have lines on the dial and on the machine itself to be able to find the perfect spot for the thickness of bread I want. I did end up using my own marker and marking the dial and onto the base of the cutter. I don't know if I missed it but initially, I thought that the whole machine was made of a hard plastic so when it came and I saw that it was metal, I was so very pleased! It is a nice quality and very sturdy and I love the suction cups. They hold the machine in place and do not slip. As a matter of fact, I actually have to reposition myself on top of the machine to remove it from the counter as the suction is so strong on my counter. I have a quartz countertop so apparently those suction cups work great and do their job well! The other thing that impressed me was the fact that the cutting wheel can be replaced! The company really thought of the customer when they made it this was and made it so that when the wheel looses its sharpness, you can just buy a replacement. They even give you the tools to use! So very happy with this purchase!

Great slicer with thickness adjustment!!!
I just love this slicer. However, to be honest, I thought I had purchased the upgraded model with a cover. I had purchased the upgraded one and just love it as it has the cover. This one didn’t come with a cover, transported it to another state and the time has gone by to return and get one with a cover. It still works the same, cuts any thickness of your bread, etc. But I have a kitchen towel over it so no one accidentally gets near that blade. Easy to clean. Easy to use. What I love is I like my sourdough bread sliced thin and my husband likes it thicker. And we can get both with this slicer. I really was disappointed I didn’t order another one with the cover. Just my preference. Slicer is excellent!!

Great Product
I've used this several times for about a month to cut sourdough and it works very well. Yes, you have to guide the bread through, but it's a manual bread slicer. The grip works and comes off great. The only tiny downside is that one you get about halfway through a loaf, those slices start to get unevenly cut at the end of the slice; even when I do my best to guide it straight (I wish I could give 4.5 stars).

Best bread slicer 🍞
We bought this bread slicer as a gift for my mother in law who loves baking sourdough and other breads. She uses it all the time and loves it! It slices perfect sized slices and is adjustable. My kids often help her slice bread as well and can use it with ease. You can use it for slicing other things as well if you'd like. I'd recommend to all.

THEcutting edge
this is a fabulous item, it does exactly what it says it's going to do, and it was $70 cheaper than a top brand one. It's excellent, I could not be happier with it.

Consistent thickness
Absolutely love this cutter! Never again will my bread have huge variations in thickness. Works very well with nice sourdough breads. Be careful as softer breads will have a bit of an issue with cutting even slices.
