Onkyo TA-RW344 Dual Cassette Deck (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

This was a replacement for my identical deck which gave up the ghost. When you buy used you need to adjust expectations. In this case, the item was listed as in "good" condition, but I would describe it as at least one notch above that. Worked well (though I only played a few minutes on each side up to this point) and kudos to the seller for not exaggerating. The packaging looked a little thin on cushioning but it worked since the item arrived intact.The value for money is questionable. The deck is already decades old and who knows how much longer it will last. Replacing the belt on this deck is very difficult. On my previous one I managed to re-install a slipped belt but when it came to replacing it with a new one, it was beyond my ability. And the mechanism of the old deck was emitting a high pitched noise on the one remaining well, which probably could be solved with some lubrication if one knew what to lubricate.The belts will eventually glaze over and start slipping. Perhaps one should look for a deck with easier belt replacement, but the sound quality of this deck is awesome and I want to be playing the tapes I recorded on it. So I'll enjoy it as long as it lasts.

The sound quality of course is top, being it Onkyo, and it plays cassettes without any problem. The only issue is that the LEDs in the display are broken, which it wasn’t mentioned in the product description. But it serves my purpose.

Product was a good replacement for my old cassette deck. Package was very well wrapped for shipping.

easy to use, all systems go! my only complaint and it is minor is that the control buttons are black, the case is black alsoso you need to use this in very good light. Even then the buttons get lost. I finally got a white paint pen an coded the buttons so I can see them and what they are for. It is probably the best deck I ever had. recording quality is excellent , no tape hiss or other undesired noise on recording . Dolby works great.

I like my Onkyo cassette player very much. It plays the music very clear.

The Onkyo tape cassette tape deck (TA-RW344) worked as advertised. The deck had several scratches as advertised I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Purchased this used here on amazon. Worked great out of the box and more than met my expectations. 1-1 transfers from other cassettes and digital sources are above average quality. Recommended.
