This expansion is magnificent. It adds tons of value to Guild Wars 2.
I already had the base game since beta. I took a break when the expansion was coming out. It felt like the expansion was scaring away a lot of my friends, who all did not want to sink more money into the same game they've been grinding loot on for years. I totally understood that perspective, but the expansion has been in a lot of sales with great discounts. I decided to go ahead and take advantage of that, because none of the newer MMORPGs were satisfying the itch like Guild Wars 2 did.This expansion is magnificent. It adds gliding, glider skins, elite specializations, mastering map-specific skills, a new Revenant class, and many other features. It gives you access to more areas to explore which may or may not work well on your old gaming rigs. I can't run around in some of the new maps without experiencing some lag or framerate issues, but it's bearable and it's worth it for the size of these new maps. Overall, it adds a lot of value to the game.

The difficulty in this expansion is pretty rough for solo play
The difficulty in this expansion is pretty rough for solo play, such as fighting world mobs or doing personal story. PoF is better and actually makes the game enjoyable. At least you get an added world perk of gliding from this expansion, everything else is pretty useless outside of the HoT areas.
