Lightweight bag and good price for what it is.
I have not used this yet in the field, but that will be coming here shortly and I will update after my trip. The bag appears well made as I didn't notice any immediate issues such as faulty stitching or crappy zipper snags. The bag has a mild odor upon first unpackaging, but it dispersed after a day or so of being opened up. The only reason I would see the need to wash is too dispense the down a little, but I was able to address the small area where the feathers clumped manually. The bag is different from any other bag I own, as it is not symmetrical and obviously has the cinch end where the footbox is. I did not have a problem fitting this back into the stuff sack and mine is the large version. It is light and packs nicely. Time will tell if this will keep me warm and hold up to my trip thrashings. See my pics.UPDATE:I had this bag out for a couple of cold nights this past weekend temps were right around 32. The first night I slept in my jeans and a long sleeve shirt and was totally comfortable. I did have to get up in the middle on the night and the zipper does catch a little if you are not paying attention, but that can happen with any bag. Luckily with the large drawstring openings I could slide out of the bag easily. The next night after hiking in snow all day my pants were soaked so I slept in my shorts and a t-shirt and again was nice and warm. This bag is a keeper. I will say I was sleeping on an air mattress and sleeping on my back up bag had this one failed to live up to its temp rating. I am sure sleeping on top of the other bag gave me a little r value boost on my back.

Do not wash this, even on a gentle cycle!
I never post reviews but decided to write this based on my own experience for the benefit of other shoppers. As mentioned by others, this will arrive with some smell from the manufacturer. The package is labeled "Hand Wash Only".As others had successfully reported gentle cycle machine washing, I decided to carefully wash mine in the machine, checking it frequently. Don't do this. This bag is nice but pretty fragile. Even on the gentle cycle, the seams failed and the washer filled with loose down. (The down is pretty nice, by the way, no feathers, just high quality fluff.)Mine was destroyed in short order and I had to throw it away. Nobody's fault but mine. The bag does need cleaning. They suggest letting it air for a few days...that might work. If I had it to do again, I would probably air it in direct sunlight for a day or two. If that did not remove the smell completely, I would probably lay it down opened on clean concrete, and spray through it it with a hose. This should prevent the down from moving around and collecting in the ends of the fill tubes. From what I saw, I believe that even hand washing would cause the down to collect in the corners as there is little baffling. As we pursued the unpleasant task of siphoning the water/feathers out of the washer, the water was soiled indicating that there was some cleaning that needed to be done. Three stars because of the fragile construction and the need to clean it upon receipt. So, my bad, it looks like a decent lightweight bag that compresses extremely well. Doesn't seem like it would keep one warm below about 40* but I wish mine was still here. Don't plan to buy another one though, can't risk another $120, not knowing if I could get it clean enough to be satisfactory. If the seller reads this and wants to help me out with a reduced cost replacement, I'd probably do that.

Great quality. Great value.
Just got this yesterday, love it. Put it in air fluff dryer with 3 tennis balls. Did not want to wash right away as others suggest. This bag has better loft than a custom made Top Quilt I bought. Love the colors. Love that head and foot ends cinch up. I close the foot end and use as top quilt. Had a slight odor. I put a dryer sheet in hammock with bag. All good now. This was shipped UPS and they left package at another house. UPS did not follow up with their investigation of where package delivered; so I had to go hunting for it all over neighborhood. Love the USPS. UPS, I have had problems. Just an FYI.

Works for me
I went with this bag because I wanted an alternative to a mummy bag. Kept me warm in mid 40s with no wind under tarp. I paired this with the hood sold thru wind hard a subsidiary of aegismax. They seem to be made for each other. Packs down like their mummy bags into a very compact stuff sack. Packing into stuff sack is a chore, but it can certainly be done. Can be ventilated thru footend or cinched closed. Comes with large storage bag. Definitely backpacking worthy for me.

The great Aegismax sleeping bag nobody talks about.
Let me be the first to post a review of this sleeping bag.... Everyone raves about the other Aegismax sleeping bags and how they are the best bang for the buck, unexpected good quality bags for short $$$$. Now onto this particular sleeping bag, I paid the price of $120.0 for the large, it comes with 450 grams of 800 goose down fill, that's a great deal. I repeat that's not a typo it's 450 grams of 800 fill. The total weight of the sleeping bag without the compression and storage bag that it came with was 792 grams (about 28ounces or 1 pound 12 ounces). Prior to purchasing I checked out youtube reviews of the other Aegismax bags but could find none about this one. Most reviews of the other Aegismax bags recommend washing it prior to use...I concur. I just threw it in my washing machine on gentle with a mild all natural detergent then threw it in the dryer on low with a few tennis balls. I was quite happy because after the wash/dry this thing lofted up quite nicely. The bag can also be used as a bag or quilt... The quality of this bag appears very good on par with ones you would pay much more $$$ for. I have not had it long enough for an appropriate test yet, however given the quality and amount of fill (450 grams 800 fill) I suspect given it's surprising ultra-loft after washing/drying this bag is gonna surprise alot of folks and will most likely meet or exceed its given rating. I will let the ounce weenies and the hardcore field nerds give the final verdict after a few of them check this bag out.

Pure wonderful warmth and comfort.
This is a fabulous warm, fluffy pure down sleeping bag. The colour isn’t what I expected. I’d call it “shiny wet mustard”, but after trying it out on our chilly fall camping trip in British Columbia, Canada, I sure stopped caring about the colour. It’s feather light and incredibly comfortable and warm. It packs down so easily into the sturdy tiny bag it comes in (and a large net bag is also included if you prefer to store without compression). When I’m not using it camping, I’m going to unzip it and lay it open inside a double duvet cover for a fab warm single bed down duvet or for a TV watching puff cover. It’s just fabulous, and I am one fussy shopper.Excellent communication with seller, who sent my double order one at a time. No problems.

STANKY!!
My friend and I both purchased the same Aegismax ul. While his never had a problem with odour, mine still reeks of nasty chicken over a year later. I've aired it out for many days, and I still can't get rid of the nauseating smell. Other than that, the bag is okay, but doesn't live up to it's cold rating. (at +7 C, My friend and I were both really cold even while wearing tuques, merino base layers, down jackets and socks)
