Fedmax Work Bench - 48" Rolling Portable Workbench for Garage - Metal with Acacia Hardwood Top, Adjustable Legs

I purchased this to use as a workbench in my garage. The quality was far better than what I expected. The legs and frame are made of heavy gauge steel, with an attractive a durable looking gray coating. The bolts used to assemble it with are heavy duty, and the hardwood acacia top is quite beautiful--so much so, that it's going to be hard using it as a workbench (my only "complaint"). I'll definitely cover it with cardboard when I use it for that purpose, to protect the wood. It truly does look attractive enough to use as a piece of inside furniture, such as a desk or worktable. I found it easy and fairly quick to assemble (an electric screwdriver with a hex bit will speed up the process), and the instructions, though short and simple, were perfectly clear and adequate because assembly is so easy. There were a number of quality, attention to detail touches, too. Where the bolts screw into the underside of the wood top to attach it to the frame, there are threaded metal sockets embedded in the wood, so there's no danger of stripping, which there would be in they screwed directly into the wood. And the small wrench which is included to facilitate assembly is another nice touch: with most furniture, etc., where a wrench is included, it's a simple, cheap piece of stamped metal, but the one that comes with this bench is a real tool: a forged, double-end wrench, one side of which fits the nuts on the bolts, and the other which fits the optional casters to screw them into the legs.

I am very pleased with this work bench from Fedmax. This work bench is a quality product from literally the top to the bottom. I had to include pictures so that you can see the beauty of the acacia wood top. This is not cheap pressboard nor cheap veneer nor cheap plywood wannabe workbench top. This is a high-quality acacia hardwood and kudos to this vendor for clearly designing with quality in mind. And the designers didn't end at the top...the quality goes all the way down to the feet/casters. This workbench is very well packaged and the acacia hardwood top was well protected in polyfoam and styrofoam wrap and bubblewrap. The shipping box took a little beating in the delivery process, but all the parts arrived perfectly intact. The steel frame is equal in quality to the hardwood bench top. Not only is this a very sturdy work table, but the quality and finish on this steel creates a product that you'll be as proud to put in your house/office as you would be to put in your garage/workshop. In fact, the quality was far better than I thought it would be by looking at their promotional pictures on Amazon. No question...excellent value for the dollar on this work bench. Buy with confidence.

First - my workbench reflected none of the problems experienced by some earlier reviewers. All the pieces came in flawless condition even though the box was a bit beat up in handling and one of the two straps came off just as it reached my door. I was impressed that Fedmax used metal corner protectors to shield the wood top for shipping. The whole thing was together in a few minutes and the screw holes lined up just fine. To ease assembly I left all the fasteners slightly loose until everything was assembled, then I went around and tightened everything. This is a standard assembly trick that I highly recommend. I chose to use the castors and was impressed that the locking casters are double locking; locked against both rotation and swivel. The castors were hard to screw in so that they fully seated in their holes. Using a pair of grip gloves to seat them did the trick. The castors are small but do the job of moving or securing the bench very well. The wood top is impressive. The wood is simply beautiful - a fine furniture grade piece of material. At 1" thick it is sturdy enough for all practical purposes. This is a nice sized bench at 20 inches x 48 inches; a good balance between compactness and a really useful sized work area. The bench is so nice I'm thinking of buying another to use as my desk.

What was awesome: - Super-easy to put together, I have the 48" so even moving it around was pretty easy and flipping it over (after assembly) - Overall quality is quite good, this surface is pretty versatile - In my case I used the locking wheels instead of adjustable feet, but I appreciate that the leveling feet are adjustable and the surface includes wheels (which is sometimes an extra thing to buy) - Quality of packaging was quite good. UPS / Amazon did a bit of a number on the packaging but everything arrived without any damage, which is a testament to the mfg packaging. Other notes: - at $150 or above I'd say this isn't the *best* value but if you can grab it for $100 or under, it's a great value.

The unit is pretty easy to assemble, is very solid, looks good, and has lots of height flexibility. There is one significant issue, the wheels do not roll well. It feels like the wheel locks are on at times when they are not. It never rolls easily. It is so bad that I am going to get some wheels that are of better quality and function. I like the unit enough to live with that solution but I am not pleased that the wheels are so inferior. If the unit had better wheels it would be an easy 5 stars for me.

This was one of the best purchase & assembly experiences I've ever had. It arrived in 1 day, was meticulously packaged (ie solid metal corner protectors inside the styrofoam packing, carefully taped bubble wrap - top notch). The build quality is excellent - this was a bit more than the other benches I was looking at but once I unpacked it, I feel like I got a bargain. The solid acacia top is beautiful - the pictures online don't quite do it justice. The assembly was very thoughtfully planned out. All parts were included and pre-placed where needed. So the solid wood top had all the anchoring hardware already installed - I just had to unscrew them by hand and use them to attach the legs. And the orientation of the legs and the cross bar were all tagged with A (for the left side) and B (for the right) so as I put it together it was super clear how things went. It would've been totally okay without that, but it just made me more confident as I assembled it that it was exactly right. Total assembly took 10-15 min by myself. It fits perfectly where I needed laptop desk and the heavy duty design looks great in my space!!! EXTREMELY HAPPY with my purchase.

I bought this purposely for the reason it is 20 inches wide. I am building a mobile miter saw station and this will serve as a great base. I needed an adjustable height mobile base that was open in the middle because I have a dumb dry well pump in my garage for the sprinklers. This bad boy cradles it so I can use the space around it in my small one car garage. One thing to note though, the wheels are super cheep and small. I upgraded to 2" post casters with dual breaks, you can find plenty of them here on Amazon". Just note the thread size when you order your new castors. The table was a bit unstable with the little wheels that come with it but since I am a tinkerer, that was not issue. Popped those new ones on and good to go. Cost me 20 bucks for the new set of awesome wheels. The top is surprisingly beautiful. Almost hate screwing into it...almost. Anyway this is a great buy. The base is rock solid and the top is solid wood. There is also a support bracket in the back that does not show in the photos because it is right under the top. Gives plenty of lateral strength. Don't forget though that the screws to the top come screwed into the top from the factory so you are not missing them. Just unscrew them from their grommets that are preset into the top and attach your frame. Took me only about 20 min to put it together. Easy day.

I needed a work table for our laundry room revamp and wanted something sturdy, somewhat industrial looking and decently affordable. This table is perfect!! The wood top is solid and beautiful - as nice as a I had hoped and better than I expected. I currently have the table set to 36" high to match our washer and dryer, and I opted not to use the wheels as it will be in a stationary setting. I had no issues with packaging; all pieces were very well packed and protected and there are no scratches or other issues to the pieces I received. All parts were included and assembly was easy. The best part - I purchased this table for less than one-third the current $300+!! If I had had time to assemble it during the lower sale price timeframe, I would have definitely purchased another.
