Yes it has Velcro on the front panel.

Q: Can we remove the over-the-top branding on this bag? Why would you ruin the front of it with your company name?

You cannot remove the branding name, but it's actually in black stitching, which is barely noticeable; not an issue for me as I really like the bag, it's completely functional --- I use of for work to carry my laptop as well as enough room for gym gear and to include a packed lunch too, plus additional snacks, etc.
