I’ve already reviewed the excellent Govee A19 bulbs (1000 lumens) and the more disappointing BR30s (850 lumens). The E12 bulbs were the last piece in replacing all the lights throughout my home. Thankfully, they’re much more in line with the quality of the A19s than the BR30s. Despite having fewer lumens than the other two, you’d never notice. These bulbs are impressively bright for their size, which says a lot about Govee’s consistency and design. As I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, setup is quick and painless. Screwing in the bulbs honestly takes longer than getting them online. You connect via Bluetooth in the Govee app, and from there, you can switch the bulbs over to your Wi-Fi network. The app gets the job done, controls are intuitive, but it still feels like it could use some visual polish and refinement. Once everything’s connected, performance is solid. Color changes are smooth, and the bulbs integrate well with Alexa and Google Assistant (HomeKit support is still clunky, even with Matter). While the app gives you the most control, basic automation works fine through your preferred smart home platform. Overall, these are great bulbs even if a bit pricier than their A19s or BR30s equivalents. Still, for those finishing off a smart lighting setup, they’re absolutely worth considering.

As an early adopter of Belkin Wemo plugs and light switches, I was hung out to dry when Belkin abandoned Wemo. I have an old home and in order to control the lights hooked up to my Wemo switches, I needed to find switches that didn't need the 3rd wire. Plus I didn't want to have to install a proprietary hub (I already have an Apple Homepod). While it appears there are some candidates for no-third-wire, no-hub-needed smart switches, I anticipated many wasted hours and dollars getting a solution. I figured, skip the switch and just get smart bulbs that work with Homekit via Matter compatibility. These Govee bulbs are perfect. I needed to start with the E12 (candelabra) bulbs as those were my immediate need, but Govee seems to have a lot of styles of smart bulbs (I didn't want a hundred-vendor solution). Anyway, about THIS product -- it just worked out of the box no sweat. AI inquiries told me I'd need the Govee Home app to generate the Matter ID but I didn't need it. Just plugged it in, turned it on, and added it to Homekit by hitting the "add device" button and scanning the Matter QR code on the product. Stupid simple, worked the first time, now totally integrated with my Homekit automations. Skip the switch, former Wemo users!

I’ve been using smart bulbs almost exclusively for several years now, and Govee has become the brand I trust the most. I recently got this 4-pack to replace a set of Sengled bulbs, and the quality is just so much better. The "Easy to Install" Factor - This is the best part. It was a total breeze to get these connected to my network and synced with Alexa. I’m a tech-friendly person, but even a low-tech person could install these bulbs without a headache. Unlike cheaper bulbs I’ve tried, the connectivity is flawless and they don't constantly drop off. The Matter Premium - I will say, I’ve noticed the prices on Govee products have crept up over the years (what hasn't, though?), and they’re now at the higher end as far as cost goes. These bulbs are Matter compatible, and it seems like you pay a premium for that aspect. However, for me, the tradeoff is completely worth it because the performance is so consistent. The Verdict - I’ve never actually had a Govee bulb go bad on me. It's still a great value for your money because you aren't constantly replacing them like the cheap brands. My best tip is to keep an eye on these and stock up during Prime Days!

LOVE the app, so many features and customizability. The lights work as advertised but you may occasionally face connectivity issues where the lights don’t follow the given command.

Beautiful bulbs I purchased for my ikea lamp, I’m yet to connect them to the app as I don’t have WiFi in my home yet but the default color they turn on to is a beautiful warm white, the exact color I was searching for. I’ll update when I connect to the app and fully set them up. Amazing quality and value for money!!

Love these lights. Work wonderfully in my fan! Changing colors with my Alexa is super easy too! The colors are slightly different than a comparable brand that I use in a different lamp in the same room.

I'll be honest — I went through two other brands before landing on these, and I'm genuinely relieved I did. My dining room has one of those older-style chandeliers with seven candelabra sockets, so finding smart bulbs that don't look ridiculous in a fixture like that has been a whole project. These Govee E12s fit great and the frosted glass tip keeps them from looking too "tech-y" in a traditional setting. Setup was painless through the Govee Home app, and because they support Matter, I was able to add them to Apple Home and Google Home without jumping through any hoops. I've been using them with Google Assistant and the voice commands work reliably — no yelling the same phrase twice. I will say upfront: these are 2.4 GHz only, which I knew going in. My router handles band steering, so there was a brief moment of frustration getting them connected, but once I put my phone on 2.4 GHz manually for setup, it was smooth. Not a Govee issue really, just something to be aware of. Color accuracy is where these shine (pun intended). The 80 CRI is solid for decorative and ambient lighting — colors look natural, not washed out. The 450 lumens is about right for a chandelier setting; I wouldn't use these as your only light source in a large room, but layered with other lights they're perfect. The warm whites range from a true candlelight feel around 2000K all the way up to a clean daylight tone, and the transitions are smooth with no noticeable flicker. The color-changing scenes in the Govee app are genuinely fun and there are way more options than I expected. I've set up a sunset scene in the evenings that honestly changed my dinner routine. Schedules and automations are straightforward to configure.

Updating my Ikea lights and these fit the bill. The install was the easiest I've ever been experienced. I have no idea why people return these a lot. Maybe they don't know that it's an E12 but either way, I'm very happy. Might have to fully switch over to Govee.

Set up was simple, but unfortunately I will have to return these because our lamp shade cover style really shows that the bulbs are lit only half way up. Like the light itself emits from the top half of the bulb only, and our glass lamp cover can't disperse the light properly so it only shines on the sides, not the middle of the glass cover.
