Great affordable camping mat
Have used this on numerous occasions camping in all weather (UK, Iceland, Canaries etc) and it's been great insulation. If its quite cold your feet do get cold but that's the price to pay for a lighter backpack! Bought my sister one too and she is so far very pleased, as used it when sleeping on my floor too and it worked well enough. Great price and quality

Jolly Good
I'd give it five stars if they didn't claim it was 'self-inflating'. You still have to blow it up, but it's a hell of a lot better than one of those roll up bits of foam.

So cosy you want to lie in
I use a foam roll mat under the groundsheet of the tent then I put this on top and it is superbly cosy - I might as well be sleeping on a reasonably firm mattress. Once I bought this, I began to feel the temptation to sleep late in my tent because lie-ins were so pleasant. If you believe camping should involve a degree of discomfort in order to be a properly rugged experience, do not buy this. Personally, I'm very attached to mine.

Punctured
The first time I used this mat was only for one night. The second time I was blowing up the mat it appeared to have got an internal puncture, as a huge bubble appeared half way down the mat, almost as wide as the mat itself. Then I decided to use the cement in the repair kit to repair another mat I had. Although the cement tube was sealed, it proved to be completely empty! The glue/cement had evaporated. Very disappointing.

Light and compact
Although the mat I received was actually red and black rather than the green shown in the picture, I'm really impressed. Considering how comfortable it is when fully inflated (and you do need to give it a few puffs, despite it being 'self inflating') it's very light and folds away nicely into a thin bag.The bag also comes with a handy pouch to keep the repair kit in. If you're trying to keep your backpack light but want the warmth and comfort, then I'd suggest going for this.I've seen other mats for the same price that weigh twice as much...

Credit where its due
This is not as comfortable as one of the inflatable mats that have the long, ribbed sections like a swimming pool lilo, although this wont get as cold. The Summit 38 is thicker and more comfortable, but almost twice the price. However, if you look at the options on offer this is a 5 star item due to it being the lightest option out there. It self inflates quickly, the valve works well, the size is enough to go from head to knee on a 6'3 person and it is comfortable enough (more than a foam mat, less than a bed at home). It packs very small and has 2 great elastic straps to keep it compressed aswell as a puncture repair kit and stuff sack which is oversized so its not a squeeze to get the mat into.Used this wild camping with no problems. I like the tough surface and its non slippy. Most of all I like how this out performs those silly thermarests which are ridiculously expensive for something than can pop and that this doesnt rattle like a crisp bag like the Neo Air does.Basic, but tough. For £30 if you shop around it gets 5 stars.
