Lost Interiors: Beauty in Desolation (Abandoned Places)

This author has such an artistic eye. HIs photos capture the spirit of these beautiful abandoned places, allowing you to imagine when they were created, loved, and a source of pride to the owner. He is preserving lost history in a wonderful, touching, lovely way. We love savoring this book, the stories, and the pictures.

Love this book works great for reverse collage

This book was too big for the pictures to be viewed while holding it a normal distance. We had to hold it about 2-1/2 ft. away to actually see the full photo. There was lots of pros on the half page (pictures were a page and a half wide) which was very wordy and in relatively fine print. The description of the photograph was extremely brief (not really a description at all) and so small, one needed a magnifying glass to read. I returned it.

Of all the 'abandoned places' books listed, I had chosen this particular title ages ago (Lost Interiors) and it has been patiently waiting in one of 'wish lists' for so long that I thought I should finally treat myself.It arrived today and it really is a gorgeous book. It is larger and heavier than I expected, really substantial.....with good quality, thick, shiny pages. It is so well-illustrated with a lot of photographs across a double-spread, but there does seem to be plenty of interesting text as well.I can see why these types of books are categorised as 'art photography.' The places themselves are amazing and you really want to be there, and the way they are photographed is so beautifully done that you can almost feel that you are there. Lovely.

A great book of still places, abandoned. Much pictures.

This book is amazing! So many thought provoking photos . I bought this for my daughter who is doing photography for her advanced level art qualification and this "abandoned " theme is her passion. The photos and descriptions have already really inspired her. Thank you !
