I would like to know if this soda needs to mature for a few weeks to be used?

I used it right from the package to make pretzels, and had successful results. That said, I wouldn't leave it unattended with fire, knives, or a 1950s chemistry set until it matures a little more.

What type of lye is this? naoh or koh? or 90% koh? i'm making soap with this and need to know the type for soapcalc.

I use this for soap making and it works well. It’s sodium hydroxide (NaOH).

What is the ratio of lye to water for soap making?

Hi. I use 10.6 oz of distilled water to 4.5 oz lye to make my soap batches. Yields around 10 bars or so
