Pepper spray works well, sprays about 6 feet and has a wide distribution. You will not miss your target and will probably cause a lot of others close to your target to join in on the fun. I do not think that this will work well on Bears, you need about a 30 foot stream of spray. But it will work well on two-legged urban predators and all of their friends. 9.2 ounces is enough to hose down an entire crowd. Just do not get any in your eyes like I did. LOL.

Bought this for my daughter she hikes a lot. She feels very comfortable with it and safe easy to pack easy directions on how used makes her feel safe. That’s the most important thing.

Keeps my mom safe on her morning walks.

⚠️ MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD & MISLEADING MARKETING – READ BEFORE BUYING! Rating: 1/5 Stars I purchased this product for outdoor wildlife protection, but it has two major issues that make it both misleading and incredibly dangerous to handle. First, the marketing is intentionally deceptive. It is sold as pepper spray for hiking and literally has a picture of a bear on the label, which strongly implies it is "bear spray." It is absolutely not bear spray. Real bear spray requires a specific EPA regulation, concentration, and spray distance that this compact bottle does not have. Misleading hikers into thinking this will protect them from a bear is highly irresponsible. Second, and much worse, is the nonexistent quality control. After receiving this, my wife took the bottle out of the carton to inspect it and put it back. Later, I did the same. Shortly after handling it, my wife’s lips began to burn intensely. We didn't immediately connect the dots because we had eaten Mexican food earlier—until my own nostrils felt like someone was holding a flame inside them, followed by my forehead and eyes burning. This brand-new, completely un-triggered bottle arrived with pepper spray residue all over the outside of the canister. Merely touching the bottle to read the label was enough to contaminate our hands and accidentally transfer the chemical to our faces. Having a self-defense product arrive pre-contaminated with its own burning agent is a massive health and safety hazard. Do not buy this product. Between the deceptive packaging and the terrible quality control, it is a liability. On the positive side - It definitely contains pepper spray (at least on the outside!).

purchased for off grid camping downstate. thankfully is wasn’t needed, but put me at ease having it with me on our hikes. Bottle is intact & I will just trust the reviews I had read while purchasing that it works. The bottle is quite large compared to others I had looked at, so keep that in mind.
