Great Camera and Easy to Install
An outstanding camera which is so easy to install. This camera was ordered due to the reversing camera in my motorhome being fogged up with moisture. It is the second AutoVox camera I have had as I have one on Debon box trailer . I am not disappointed. The camera is crystal clear and having adjustable ‘guide lines’ for reversing allows the user to achieve a unique set up for their vehicle. As my motorhome is wider than a car, it was easy to establish lines that allow me to judge all hazards. The camera arrived the following day after ordering and was set up in my motorhome within 40mins. Connecting the camera to reversing lights was easy once the reversing light wires were established. The camera fits neatly behind the number plate and is inconspicuous. The 5” monitor is small enough to not take over the dash but big enough to see the crystal clear image from the camera. I have installed the monitor on a ‘heavy satnav pad’ purchased a couple of years ago from Amazon which allows me to remove it from the dash easily when I close the blinds at night.Overall this is an excellent camera which has allowed me to be confident in reversing my 8m Motorhome again. I am considering purchasing another camera similar to the one I have on my trailer, a high level camera. The two channel monitor would allow me to connect the high level camera when I am carrying bikes on the back of my motorhome. Having both cameras operating will alert me to absolutely anything that could be considered a hazard.I would highly recommend this camera and AutoVox. Having two of their products and both being outstanding in every respect is a rare thing found in a company these days.

AUTO- VOX Great Camera System
I don't often write reviews but in this case i have made the exception I already own and use very successfully an AUTO-VOX PRODUCT the Solar4 A 1080P Wireless Backup Camera with 7" Split-Screen Monitor and Dual Camera Support for RV and Camper Trailer plus with an extra camera for my Motorhome which proved a great success in an Hit and Run Accident which found the offender. So when my wife wanted a new system for her car i automatically went straight back to AUTO-VOX AND AFTER EVALUATING THEIR SYSTEMS i decided to buy the Wireless Reversing Camera Kit: 5" HD 1080P Monitor, Easy Installation, Clear Night Vision, IP69K Waterproof, 2 Channels Zero-Lag Digital Signal for Car, Van, Truck & SUV - W12 this i installed on my wife's car very successfully it has proved a massive bonus for her especially at night when she is out. This product sold by Auto-Vox via amazon does exactly what it states in the right up easy to fit very good value and quality and quantity are outstanding I give this product 5 ***** and more if it was on the listing from Amazon so Definitely go to AUTO-VOX AND BUY THIS PRODUCT ITS AWESOME I have one further vehicle and want a system that will give me front and back view so look out Auto-Vox James S-Y

Motorhome rear view camera.
I’m very pleased with this device. I purchased it for my motor home which is over 7m long. The WiFi camera works really well at that distance. I also have a Toyota Aygo as a tow car and the camera still works at that distance. Installing was easy. The screen slotted into the redundant rear view mirror bracket. Good value and a very useful addition to my motor home.

Good but not Flawless
IN BRIEFExcellent customer support. Having had to return a different product, the UK agents couldn't have been more helpful with my unusual requirements and offered this as a replacement.CONCLUSION: the AutoVox W12 is one of the best after-market reversing camera kits available for around £100. It does the job well though it could be more convenient to install and use.My general expectations (all fulfilled).a) 'Reversing camera' implies that it automatically activates in reverse gear - so it has to detect that Reverse gear is engaged. The invariable solution is to power the camera from the reversing light(s), with the monitor permanently in standby (when the ignition is on), activated by a signal from the camera. Obviously the monitor has to be powered from the car.b) A 'Wireless' connection between camera and monitor avoids the major hassle of threading a cable (neatly and safely) from the rear of the vehicle (or trailer) to the dashboard.c) The (wired) OEM reversing camera in my 2012 Subaru Forester is very good; given the advances in camera technology in the last 13 years, I expected the AutoVox W12 to be as good.d) The camera position and field of view are unlikely to be as good as OEM camera - which should have been an integral detail of the vehicle's design.GOOD:The monitor activates really quickly (less than ½ second) - it's faster than my Subaru. No detectable latency (lag between event seen in a and monitor). The resolutions of camera and monitor are excellent. The monitor shows a bright, clear, wide angle view behind the car. For a compact and inexpensive camera, it copes well with high contrast conditions in both daylight and at night; its low-light capability is surprisingly good.I have not encountered any external radio interference on the Autovox W12.CRITICISMSMy biggest criticism is the monitor stand:- it has a very limited range of adjustment;- many dashboards don't have a sufficiently large, horizontal and flat area. However, don't let this put you off the product as the stand's ball-joint ball is the same size (16mm) as many phone holders (for under a tenner), which DO provide plenty of adjustment and will stick to gently-curved surfaces; just swap the monitor's clip-on fitting for the phone cradle like I did (photo). If the monitor needs to be mounted upside-down for any reason, using the monitor settings to invert ("DOWN") the camera video, does NOT invert the monitor's internally-generated overlays (Guide lines, Settings menus, Channel). It's unlikely to present a problemThe corresponding menu options of "UPSIDE" and "DOWN" are not opposites in English, but the two halves of UPSIDE-DOWN; "NORMAL" and "INVERTED" would be clear. There's no choice of guide-line width or position on the screen. You won't get or need this on an OEM setup, but on an after-market kit it essential if the guide-lines are to be any use.The monitor's power adapter could be better designed:- it's longer than it needs to be and it monopolises the front 12V socket;- it's on one end of a 3m cable that may have to be threaded up (down is much easier) behind the dashboard for a neat installation;- a single USB2 port is insufficient for many drivers who will want to power at least two other 'devices' (e.g. a phone and a dash-cam) and want fast-charging, for which suitable 12V charging plugs with 2+ ports cost around a fiver. The adapter needs either 2 fast charging ports, or a pass-through 12V socket into which a USB adapter of choice can be plugged.Camera wiring: the lengths of the two sections of red/black twin power cable are the wrong way around IMHO. A long tail will often be needed to get from the camera to the reversing light (wires), particularly if the reversing light isn't in the tail-gate/boot-lid.No sticky pads provided for the aerial/splitter unit and the power box.TIPSRead the User Manual - carefully.Test all car electronics BEFORE installation. You'll need to find some way to power the camera from 12V: cut the plug off a redundant 12V plug (old-time mobile phone, torch charging lead) or connect the 'tails' direct to the battery.Make sure you've got positive to positive, negative to negative, BEFORE you connect the camera! The little Power Box may protect against reverse connection, but DO NOT bank on that! To confirm which wire to the reversing light is positive, the centre contact of the bulb should be positive, and the cap negative.Don't obscure the number plate, its lights or the boot/hatch release!WHAT'S IN THE BOXMonitor, stand, monitor power lead with plug.Camera with attached mounting bracket, video/power cable, connection cable with aerial/connector unit and 12v power box.Installation accessories: 3 small cable ties and 2 insulation piercing connectors.User manual.DATAMonitor: (78 x 142 x 18mm) without stand weighs ~ 125gMonitor with stand has a combined 'envelope' of 89 x 142 x 53mm, can be mounted upside down as the displayed video can be flipped vertically and/or horizontally (mirror image). To me, the monitor of a reversing camera is just another rear-view mirror - the one with the best view.Cable: 3mStand: It's a stand (like a micro TV) not a mount, designed to be stuck on a flat, more or less horizontal, surface. 360° rotation about horizontal axis. Weight ~39g Footprint: (trapezium) 96/45 x 52mm, adhesive patch 96/51 x 42Camera: (43 x 35 x 30mm - W x H x D) cable requires 6.5mm (¼") hole; can be inverted in the mounting bracket but be aware that it's only adjustable through about 60°.I didn't use the stand provided as the car's dash has no flat surface; instead, I bought a cheap phone holder with a sticky sucker.Very compact, considering it also contains a wireless transmitter. The aerial is built into a tiny junction box on the power lead that goes inside the car to enable it to be mounted so that a steel 'wall' between aerial and monitor can be avoided. On many cars that have a factory-fitted reversing camera, it's offset to the passenger side - often to the side of the number plate. The combined aerial/power cable from the camera to the aerial/splitter and the red/black power cable from there to the power box are each about 1.4 metres. The 'tail’from the power box is about ½ metre.User Manual (EN, DE,FR, IT) 13, 14, 12, 12 pagesBetter than most. Slightly strange grammer/syntax in places but perfectly understandable.Installation: comprehensively covered by manual, I would only add a couple of points:- be careful about what is behind the place you're drilling through;- if you can, pass the camera cable along the same path as the number plate light and/or drill through a plastic component for choice;- if possible avoid drilling through steel because that will start rusting immediately unless it is primed and painted;- water runs DOWNWARDS, so ensure the camera cable goes UP into the car.

CAMERA failed as soon as it got wet!
Initially not bad, but the camera is nowhere near as wide angle as what you would get from a factory installed camera. The guide line overlay is also totally useless, it’s just a couple of random lines that don’t relate to anything.UPDATE: Camera failed after about 3 weeks after the first spell of rain. No way is it IP67 rated as claimed! Just more Chinese junk I guess. Too late for refund. Lesson learned, never buy again from this manufacturer.
