Don't procrastinate. Purchase it.
Another great offering by Tamiya. This kit bears all of the hallmarks that you've come to expect from Tamiya: Solid exterior detail, clear instructions, minimal flash, near perfect part fit and excellent prices relative to the industry. I should add that I do NOT own Tamiya stock nor am I a member of the board - haha. One cautionary note: Be careful with the 4 "walls" of the superstructure and ensure that all 4 are firmly in place. You'll have to hold these 4 parts together for at least about 60 seconds to ensure proper seal.I had a such a great time re-creating a 1941 era Italian tank in North Africa. I applied a 1st layer of dark brown base coat (versus my typical approach of abblack base coat), added white panel highlights, followed up with a mix of Desert Yellow/Sand color with Khaki camo spots - all via airbrush of course. I then applied a very small amount of sponge weathering, some light & dark dry brush wreathing and finally some small paint brush weathering for scratches and larger chips. I then added some color modulation with artist oils (white and yellow only) and finished up with AK streaking rust enamel. This kit is roughly 95% complete. I would need to apply a final dust coat (airbrush) along with some additional wreathing (with pigment powders) on the tracks, but that will come later if/when this model finds it's way onto a diorama. In closing, I can't help but admire the Italian tankers that had to go to battle in these sub-par weapon systems. Poor dudes.Love this kit. Buy it. Build it. Weather it. Enjoy.Update - June 14, 2022: I was inspired by the excellent work put forth by Robert Kessler below so I decided to upgrade my kit a bit more with recently learned techniques. Proof that these model kits remain a neverending work in progress....

Nice and not so nice
The figures are awesome. The metal barrel and photo etch very nice. The fit of the tank parts not so nice. Not what you expect from Tamiya model.

nice kit of the italian medium tank
nice kit from Tamiya, upgraded with a few small PE parts and metal gun barrel, 2 figures included, easy to build, overall good fitting apart on the upper two hull parts was on mine a small gap which had to be filled with putty but nothing problematic, turns out nice

Italeri in disguise
it is old Italeri re-box so you get what you get. it old tool maybe 25 years or more. Tamiya re dose in instruction sheet and added some figures and boxes. It is the only option you have in 1/35 so it take it or leave it.

Intresting with problems
While I enjoyed the build it had numerious gabs that quite abit of putty to fill, Plus additional sanding to make the kit presentable.

This is Tamiya rebox of the 1974 kit updated with PE, turned metal barrel, new figures, sprues, and link-and-length tracks. The two new figures are very well molded with plenty of fine detail. A majority of the kit uses the old molds which shows in some seam lines and minor fit issues; easily addressed with putty and xacto knife. This is a quick build where I could've built it all in one day if it wasn't for the daily schedule of life. I have yet to paint it but it should be relatively easy in representating a vehicle from the North African campaign. This isn't a bad kit at all and served as a welcome distraction inbetween more complex and time consuming kits.

Another good tank offered from tamiya
Wow great detail. Started the build of this model. As it starts to come together. I cannot wait to paint and detail this tank. Parts have very few holes to fill. I like the tracks as they are glued in sections. Alot diffrent as to what im used to from tamiya. Parts are well detailed and figures are included. Will go good with my model tank collection. Thanks!

A great classic kit with some modern updates.
Quite a few years ago i made the original Tamiya M13/40 kit, and I enjoyed making it, though the suspension was a bit of a slog. Recently I decided to make another one. This an updated version, with some excellent improvements, including link and length tracks, some well detailed crew figures, a metal gun barrel and some photo-etch. Though the suspension was still a bit of a slog, this was a fun kit to build with the new parts a joy to work with.

A great update of an old kit, worthy of the Tamiya brand name.
This is a great little kit, this particular one is an updated version, which includes an aluminum gun barrel and a small sheet of photo etched parts. The old and much hated battery and switch holes in the hull of the older kits are gone in this updated version. As are the rubber band tracks, which are instead replaced with various lengths of sectional track links.
