Weightless, buildable volume and length!
I have mild trichotillomania, which is an obsessive compulsive disorder where I sometimes pull out my eyelashes. I'm not consciously trying to look like a weirdo. It always feels like I have a loose eyelash, so I'm constantly tugging on them, so they fall out more. OK, enough of this therapy session.Point is, as a result, my eyelashes are sparse and sometimes patchy. I got hooked on this mascara when I read that it was gel-based, instead of the usual waxy, stiff mascaras. This really gives volume and length to your lashes, but with a weightless feel (so i don't feel the need to pull on them as much). It's also VERY BUILDABLE. You can add like 3 coats before your lashes start clumping. abOh and TIP: I also like to use 1-2 coats of the regular formula, and a coat of the waterproof formula to top it off. That way, it stays on like waterproof, but washes off like regular. :)

I'm really impressed with this!
I ordered this based on the positive reviews I'd read here and in a magazine, and it's a really fantastic mascara -- especially given how inexpensive it is! I've been using Buxom Lash mascara for the last two years, but I honestly feel like this is just as good, and it's 1/4 of the price. This goes on nice and smoothly, with no clumping. Mascara can often cause my allergies to flare up, but this doesn't irritate my eyes at all.The only odd thing is that the brush bends (see the photo provided by Maybelline above), and this sort of freaked me out a bit the first few days I used this since I'm squeamish about things near my eyes and didn't like the idea of a moving brush. Now that I'm used to it, it doesn't bother me.This also washes off easily, and doesn't smear or smudge, even when my allergies are bad and my eyes are watery.Great product!

My go-to mascara for years
If you're trying to decide if a mascara at this price point can really be as great as everyone says, then believe me when I say you need to buy it!! I switched from Dior Diorshow to Maybelline Mega Plush and always get compliments on my lashes. I always get blackest black. Tip: make sure to purchase the "washable" style if you're not looking for waterproof - because the "waterproof" style will never come off. Okay, it will - but I accidentally made that mistake once and after struggling to remove it for a fair amount of time I will not make that mistake again! However, now I know that if I need a good mascara for a beach day or something that will involve water - waterproof will have me covered all day long!

Woof.
This is the least effective of the Maybelline mascaras. You have to swipe, swipe, swipe, then swipe a few times more. Then maybe again a few times to be able to see its effect. I already have a full-time job, so no. And like the other Maybelline mascaras, everything on the lower lashes ends up smeared under your eyes within the first hour of the day.

Terrible applicator
This is the worst applicator I have ever used for mascara! It bends and you have no "torque" for application. It literally is almost impossible to get anything on you lash with this brush design. I will have to buy spoolies to even be able to use this mascara. I can't even rate the quality of the product because I can't use it until I get another applicator. Very disappointed. Luckily it wasn't too pricey.

Better than the previous mascaras
The mascaras I've had in the past would always flake off my lower lashes, it was very annoying. "It's So Big" from Elizabeth Mott was my favorite, but it was starting to get a little pricey for me, so I had to drop it and look for something cheaper. Then I tried the Miss Manga mascara (the pink one) and fell in love with it. It did flake off my lower lashes, but at least it gave me the kind of look I wanted...right?Well, soon enough, I got tired of that mascara, with the flakes falling from my lower lashes and the upper lashes making hideous clumps. After comparing some other drugstore mascaras, I found that this one has a lot of good reviews. I read through them, both positive and negative reviews, and decided that hey, I guess I should try and find out myself.Well, this is now my new favorite drugstore mascara. It rarely clumps my lashes, and I don't get those annoying flakes under my eyes anymore... Finally!! Mascara I can wear on my lower lashes!

Great job for the price
I am a self proclaimed mascara junkie, and this is a great one. It is easily to apply and the bristles on the brush are sturdy so they do a great job of pulling apart clumped together lashes (especially if you are re-applying mascara later on in the day)The color is very black. This mascara gives my lashes a fanned out effect and makes them appear fuller than they do on their own. It also seems to add a little length if you apply a few coats. Great job for the price

Flaky
I've been a covergirl girl all my life. But this mascara is awful. The flex brush is a nightmare, doesn't evenly distribute the mascara. And after having it on for not even three hours it's already flaking. The last thing I need is to be at work and having mascara flakes all over my face. I'll stick with the other covergirl mascaras. But this one is a no for me.

so hard to use it's not worth it
unless you're happy to spend a painstaking 10 minutes every day just to do your mascara, DO NOT BUY. Now I know it specifies this in the features, but the "flexible wand" moves around so much it's almost impossible to actually apply the thing. Such a pain to use. Wouldn't recommend for this reason. That being said, the formula itself is actually not bad. It's on the watery side but it does leave lashes very soft (not stiff) and gives a kind of wispy, natural effect. Not a lot of volume at all, mostly just length, can make your lashes look kind of slick and wet. Hard to fix little mistakes on the go if you just use a dry cotton swab like me (since the formula is so wet) but easy to wash off at the end of the day.All in all, the formula is pretty ok but the bendy wand makes it a nightmare to use. Unless you're a genius at using bendy wands, just skip it.

Fantastic overall!
I no longer have to buy expensive (40$+) mascaras! I’m so happy I found this one. Great for volume, length, and sensitive eyes! Super easy to apply, which is a huge bonus, and isn’t clumpy at all! Huge fan!

Used to be my favourite mascara
I haven't been able to find this mascara in stores. I loved the brush they had before cause the bristles were firm and had a thick brush. This one was a bit flimsy but I still like the brush. It goes on nice without the lashes sticking together.

One good one bad. Luck of
Chunky and sticky. I ordered two and one was fine the other not so much.

but I don't really love the wand
Ok mascara, but I don't really love the wand. it's kind of weird and flimsy--like it bends and wiggles as you are applying it. I keep ending up with smudges.
