Very Impressive Customer Service
I purchased this product about a year ago for my RV to use as a rearview mirror. Installation was quick and easy, and the image quality was excellent. I configured the camera to Always On, allowing it to function continuously as a rearview mirror, which was exactly what I needed. I enjoyed using it so much that I couldn't imagine driving my RV safely and comfortably without it. Unfortunately, the camera stopped charging last week. I contacted the customer service team by email to explain the problem and ask about getting a replacement. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations, since many companies tend to assume the problem is due to customer misuse. To my surprise, the support team responded promptly with a few troubleshooting steps and assured me that if they didn't resolve the issue, they would send a replacement camera. After I confirmed that the troubleshooting had not worked and provided my shipping address, they replied again almost immediately—even considering the time zone difference—to let me know that the replacement had already been arranged. Less than three days later, the new camera arrived, and my Auto-Vox system was up and running again. The product itself has been excellent, but what impressed me even more was the outstanding customer service. It's rare to receive support that is this responsive and hassle-free. I have absolutely no regrets about purchasing this product and feel confident that the company stands behind what it sells.

Great picture quality, Dual Cameras, DVR for emergencies
This backup camera set is fantastic. I have tried other solar backup cameras in the past, but I upgrading to nicer models. This one is top of the line and I am really enjoying all of the features. Couple points to share: 1. Set up - one camera mounts with double sided tape, the other uses a very strong magnet to mount anywhere you need. One really nice extra feature of this model is that the monitor will flip the picture vertically or horizontally. This means you can really mount almost anywhere. With my last model, I really wanted to mount it under the license plate to avoid the door handle but then the picture would have been flipped. With this model, you can mount anywhere and then tweak the settings to display how you want. 2. Picture quality - Both cameras are HD and display beautifully on the large 7" screen. They have very good nighttime vision, much better than my last backup camera. 3. Both cameras have solar charging. And I have not seen the batteries lose a single bar in the few weeks I have had them. I probably have been running them more than normal, so I am optimistic that I will rarely if ever have to manually charge them going forward. 4. Micro-SD Recording - honestly, I hope to never need this, but it's good to have just in case of emergency. Overall, I am thrilled with this backup camera set. It's a major upgrade from my previous models, It has much better picture quality, better nighttime vision, dual cameras, and the DVR recording for extra peace of mind. Highly recommend.

Nice Camera System
This camera system is very clear and easy to install. Wireless connectivity is seamless with no issues and seems to hold a charge very well. Other than the initial charge I have not charged it yet and it's been over 6 months. I've even put it inside a cargo trailer to watch a load while transporting and it worked great. Overall it's a very solid product. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because when you mount it low for backing up to trailers it doesn't have a real wide view so you can't see trailer tounge until you are really close to it or you won't have hitch in view.

Outstanding Reliable Backup Camera
I purchased this AUTO VOX wireless backup camera for my RV late last year and it has been the best backup camera I have ever owned. Installation was easy and the quality of the image is outstanding. I can definately recommend this camera to anyone needing a reliable backup camera.

The product is very simple to use, good quality and very useful for a truck camper setup like mine.
There are several versions of this package. I tested a version which includes a magnetic mount solar powered camera (referred to as “SL5”) and a license plate mounted camera referred to as “SL3” in addition to a monitor which is nominally 7” measured on the diagonal. The product comes well packaged in a plain white carton. Inside is a plastic liner premolded with spaces for the included parts. There is an SL5 camera which is rather bulky but includes a solar system and a strong magnetic mount. There is an SL3 camera which is a 7” x 1.25” x 1.5” black plastic bar which is premounted on a bracket designed to fit behind a license plate. There is also a wide profile 7” diagonal (2.25” x 6.25”) color lcd monitor. Mounting accessories include a dash mount system for the monitor, a pair of different metal mounts which can be screwed on and used as a base for the magnetic mount of the SL5, some antennas, 2 USB-C charging cables, a power cable for the monitor and 2 small bags of allen screws and wrenches. There is also of course a small user manual. The picture quality is very good although the colors don’t run true. It is easy to see details at all distances from the cameras. The cameras are pre-paired as Camera 1 and Camera 2. The documentation isn't very good, but that doesn't matter because the product is very simple to install and use. The monitor has a simple online menu that allows you to configure a few parameters. It comes pre-configured so the whole thing takes literally seconds to install if you don’t ask any questions and don’t bother to set the time. There are 3 functional pieces to this system that are distinct and communicate through wifi. The only wiring necessary is for the power to the monitor, which is just a power plug. The included plug does require a USB power port, but conveniently it offers a USB port on the back if you need to power another accessory as well. The monitor is designed to mount to a bracket affixed to a flexible pad which is stuck to the dash with adhesive. It has a limited range swivel mount with adjustable tension. The monitor itself clips on and off this mount. The SL5 camera has a magnetic mount. Installation can be as simple as sticking it to your vehicle surface. The camera lens can swivel from horizontal (perpendicular to the magnetic surface, to pointing down 30 degrees. There are also 2 included metal brackets which can be screwed on to the vehicle or affixed with double sided tape (not included). One of the brackets has a 30 degree down angle built in. The SL5 then mounts magnetically to the bracket and in this case, you can use a small screw (included) to have a slight bit of security for the camera. There is a 4” long plastic antenna which must be screwed to the side of the SL5. It can be straight or has a 90 degree bend to point up or down. There is a 3.5” x 1.25” solar panel on top of the SL5 to keep it charged. The SL3 camera is designed to attach to a bracket which mounts behind a license plate. Alternatively, there is also a precut piece of double sided tape which can be used to mount the bracket. The SL3 clips onto the bracket and has its own small screw for a little bit of security. The SL3 allows the entire lens assembly to twist up or down by about 45 degrees (total range of 90). There is a small (4.5” x 0.75”) solar panel on the SL3 to keep it charged. The solar panel points horizontally in the default configuration. The install consists of simply sticking the monitor mount to the dash and plugging it in, mounting the 2 cameras, and setting the time in the monitor menu section. It could all be done in 2 minutes if you had the tools ready to install the license plate mounted camera. There are just 3 buttons on the back of the monitor; up, down, and menu. In the default configuration the monitor goes to sleep and the camera is switched off to save power. You must press one of the buttons to wake it up. You can then toggle through the available views (camera 1, camera 2 or both) using the down button. You can change the sleep time (120s, 240s, or never) in the monitor menu. Unlike most backup cameras which are automatically switched on when going into reverse, you must wake up the monitor (and thus the cameras) manually. The menu allows you to put grid lines (the angled yellow/red backup lines that indicate where the car might go in reverse) on either or both of the camera views but they aren’t shown when both camera views are displayed. The grid lines don’t know if you’re turning so they aren’t as good as inbuilt systems. Also, the grids can not be adjusted so they may be deceptive. The monitor menu also allows you to pair/unpair cameras. You can adjust the brightness, you can mirror or vertically flip the camera images or you can record and playback the camera feeds if you use a 8-64G class 10 TF card (not included). The cameras can each be charged from a USB-C cable. The documentation indicates that if they are run full time they will last about 12 hours. But when the monitor goes to sleep the cameras go into hibernation. I’ve maintained charge on both cameras for over a week of regular use so far. The expectation would be that in normal use they’d get enough charge from solar to keep the batteries charged. I assume if you garage your vehicle it would only get sun when in use so the camera batteries won’t get as much charge. Battery technology has improved significantly but I’d still be concerned about running down the battery and limiting the lifetime of the camera. At $200+ I would not want to consider this a disposable iterm. This is a helpful product for my situation. I have a slide in truck camper. When the camper is loaded it blocks the license plate on the back of the truck. I cheat and mount my front plate on the back of the camper to save the effort of swapping plates when loading/unloading the camper. I think a good use of this package would be to have the license plate mounted camera on the back of the truck and the magnetic camera at the top, rear of the camper. I’d usually have the monitor configured to show just the camera 1 image and simply switch to camera 2 when loading the camper.

why wait? Get it now.
Got a set and extra camera for my truck and trailer. Super easy set up. Camera on truck is a magnetic mount. The trailer is mounted with included bracket. Pairing is easy. Day and night quality is super clear. You can set time for monitor to stay on so your battery does not drain quickly. 5 months after installing the truck camera stopped working. Customer service was very responsive and a replacement was sent out quickly. I highly recommend this company. I will be ordering the dash cam for my wife's vehicle.

An Excellent alternative to Furrion Cameras
This is the second camera I’ve purchased from Auto-Vox for towing my camper. My previous camera worked well (and still does), but it wasn’t designed to be mounted behind a tow vehicle. As a result, I was pushing it beyond its intended use. That led to occasional buffering and compression artifacts on the display. This new model solves all of those issues—and then some. Installation is a breeze. You mount the included plate, and the camera snaps onto it magnetically. The magnets are extremely strong, but for added security, you can use the included socket head cap screw to lock it in place. There's a USB-C charging port under a waterproof cover and a simple on/off switch beside it, accessible from the bottom of the camera. I charged it once via USB at the start and haven’t needed to since. The screen is excellent and comes with a 6-foot cable that plugs into your car’s 12V socket. Once powered, it automatically wakes the camera and starts the live feed. The image has a slight fisheye effect, which actually helps by widening the field of view behind the trailer. The display allows you to adjust brightness, guide lines, image orientation, and screen timeout settings. By default, the screen is set to turn off the camera after about two minutes, but I immediately changed that to stay on continuously—I use it as a rear-view camera, not just a backup cam. The manual warns that this mode may drain the battery faster, but in my experience, that hasn’t been an issue. During my longest test—a four-hour daytime drive—the battery still showed 3 out of 4 bars. Because it’s solar-powered, it’s constantly recharging. In fact, mine even showed it was charging indoors under regular lighting. The manual claims it can operate for 45 days without solar, though that seems optimistic. Still, the next time I used it, it was fully charged and ready to go. One feature I’d like to see is an option to hardwire the camera, but Auto-Vox offers other models for that purpose. The benefit of this one is portability—if your camper goes into storage, you can remove the camera in under 30 seconds for safekeeping. In conclusion, this camera is an excellent value. It delivers a clear, stable image from the back of my trailer (40–50 feet away) to the display in my vehicle, with no noticeable interference. I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

Good product, works great, but not perfect.
Overall, this product works exactly as advertised. I've used it twice, now, on my 12' cargo trailer on long road trips, and it hasn't given me a lick of trouble. I just slap the camera onto the back of the trailer and power-up the monitor, and I instantly get a picture -- no fooling around with syncing or pairing, it just works. Both times I've used it, I've had the camera fully charged before use, so I can't exactly speak on how well the built-in solar charger works. But I can say that on both the 3-hour trip in full sun, as well as the 1-hour trip in cloudy weather, the battery showed to still be fully charged when I reached my destination -- that tells me the built-in solar charger provides enough power to run the camera without the internal battery having to get involved (much). I had to knock off one star, though, for two reasons: 1) The 7.2" wide screen looks nifty, but its aspect doesn't match that of the camera, so the image is actually stretched laterally. It's not terrible, and maybe other people won't even notice. This just means that the wide screen doesn't really give you a wide view, it's just a novelty with no real value. This is really only a problem if you choose the single-camera version -- I bet the two-camera version works great side-by-side on the wide screen. Also, the 7.2" wide screen version does not come with a suction cup mount like the 5", only a mounting plate with an adhesive strip on the bottom, so if you don't intend to mount the display permanently, it could be a challenge to find a place for it to sit where it won't fall or slide off. 2) The camera is supposed to be water resistant. However, after my second trip through some light rain, I noticed a sloshing sound when I removed the camera from the back of my trailer -- it had water inside! I panicked and quickly disassembled it (warm up the rubber pad on the back so it peels up easily, revealing four small screws) so I could drain the water. I was so ready to leave a scathing review on how a product meant to be used outdoors could allow water ingress... but then I noticed that the interior was potted (see photos). So even though some water had gotten inside, it couldn't affect the electronics. Nice! However, they should have included weep holes in the bottom of the enclosure to allow this water to drain out more easily. Overall, it's a good product and a fair value, but if you choose the single-camera kit, then I'd recommend going with the 5" version, since that one uses a suction cup mount and the 7.2" wide screen is just a novelty with no real benefit.

Super Easy Setup and Works Better Than Expected
I was honestly a bit skeptical at first, but this backup camera blew me away. Installation was exactly as advertised—took me barely a minute to get it on my truck. No wires, no drilling, no stress. Just stuck it on, turned it on, and it worked right away. The base is really strong, and it hasn’t moved at all even after a few long drives. The 1080P monitor is super clear, even at night. I was surprised how far the signal reaches—I’ve used it on my truck and the video feed stayed stable the whole time. The solar charging is a great touch since I don’t have to worry about running out of battery. It comes with a storage bag too, which is perfect for when I want to switch vehicles or store it safely. Overall, this is easily one of the best purchases I’ve made in a while. It made backing up so much easier and safer. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a reliable, portable backup camera!!!!

A fantastic and very reassuring aid to driving and parking. Superb.
I have the Autovox Solar4 camera and monitor fitted to my motorhome and it has proven to be a superb bit of kit. The Solar5 was bought for my wife's Kodiaq and horse box trailer combination and it too has been superb and a real aid to my wife when reversing. The two cameras provide all round vision as one is rear mounted and the other is mounted at the front of the trailer. The two camera kit is very comprehensive and comes with straight or angled brackets to mount the magnetic bases of the camera's should you not have a magnetic surface to mount directly. The base provides a very strong magnetic grip and the fact that the camera units can be removed and stored in the supplied bag is a real aid to security. As my wife's horsebox is aluminium and non-magnetic, I bonded and screwed the steel plates to the trailer roof. The camera's and the monitor paired straight out of the box and the whole set up was completed in less than 10 minutes. If you have a magnetic surface to mount the cameras on then it is instant. The monitor is excellent, clear and sufficiently wide to give a useful view of the surroundings and as the camera's are mounted high, a superb view looking down on traffic to the rear and any obstacles to the front. The parking guidelines are a real aid to reversing and as my wife is not over confident when reversing, she has found them to be fantastic and importantly, the stop lines allow her to judge sufficient room to lower the ramp when loading or unloading. The kit comes with a 32gb SD card and the monitor playback quality is excellent by day and night. The option to leave the monitor on permanantly means it can be used as a rear view mirror which, as the trailer blocks out the cars rear window, is a fantastic aid. The monitor DVR has a loop recording function and date/time stamps to identify any unfortunate incident. A reassuring record should someone hit you from the rear or, when the other camera is forward facing, from the front. This is a superb kit. Easy to fit, works straight out of the box and provides a real sense of security and confidence when driving. The two camera set-up covers and records both front and rear, the rear camera reverse parklines are a real aid to manouevering and the fact that you can remove and store both camera's should you wish is a real bonus. Add in that both cameras are solar powered, the carry case is very high quality, an SD card is included and the WiFi reception over an 11 metre car and trailer combination is quite superb. The whole kit is very well designed, made to an extremely high (and weather resistant) standard and wonderful value. Highly recommended.
