Seems like a cheap tool at a cheap price, but eventually got the job done.
It's OK for the price compared to the "Pro" versions of this kind of compressor, but may be shot now after doing four compressions to replace 1 pair of coilovers.Spring rates of the springs involved were 540 lbf/in and 590 lbf/in, after compressing one pair of each, one of the legs of the clamp and two of the safety pins are bent. Also using a 450 ft-lbf electric impact driver beat the hell out of the action bolt (took a layer of material off most of the hex head and wore the bottom of the head into a conical shape as well as damaging the silver bar at the interface area. If lubrication of the tool is necessary for proper function, it would have been nice to have even a single page of instructions included to indicate that (and maybe even recommend a preferred lubricant).During compression, the clamp also had a tendency to skew to one side, which may have caused the difficulty I had in lining up the shock through the spring for assembly.Wouldn't recommend using this for more than a homeowner/DIY level of use (and even at that don't plan on using it for more than a couple vehicles worth of springs unless you're working on light cars with soft springs), this is not a professional-grade tool.

Though it did work, it only lasted one spring. While compressing the second strut I noticed metal shavings on the screway and all of a sudden the whole thing came loose. It's now scrap. Too late to return.

Three Stars
Fine for 2-4 struts, If you have to do more pay the extra for a standup model.

Save Money Do it Yourself
I have never used this particular piece of equipment but I used common sense and it worked as advertised. I saved over $400 by doing it myself and I know the job was done right because I double checked everything because I didn't know what I was doing.

Worked great. I clamped one arm of the compressor in a bench vice orienting the shock vertically. This worked great for me. I swapped springs out in my 2015 Mustang GT.

... purchased this compressor and wow is it quick and easy to use
I've worked in the car repair business for years and recently purchased this compressor and wow is it quick and easy to use... especially for a homer DIY'er!

Worthless on 1/2 ton truck springs.
The metal flexes to much and threads on the bolt bind up to much even with lubrication to compress them enough to do anything.

Just as good as snap on
Snap on has a similar one and this works just as well
