AMAZING PURCHASE !!!!
This is easily the best money I have ever spent. I used to be able to smell my old litter box no matter how often it was cleaned. This robot box is the perfect, easiest, and nicest-looking litter box I could have asked for. It is so easy to clean out the bags. The app makes it easy to check if the drawer needs cleaned. I have had many people over who didn’t even realize I had cats because the odor is so well-managed.

This self-cleaning Fumoi litter box WORKS!!!
We’ve been using the Fumoi Automatic Cat Litter Box for just over a month now. We are using one unit to service two adult (9 years old) Tabby sister cats. It replaced a pair of Omega Paw Roll’N Clean manual litter boxes. We are not using any kind of step in front of the box, and they don’t have any issues with box access. I waited a month to do this review because I’ve had too many experiences with smart or automated items that seem great on initial use, but then the problems started after a week or two of operation. After using the Fumoi litter box for a full month, I can report that we are very pleased with performance to date. There have been a couple of minor issues, but in total, we find the Fumoi unit to be more than capable of handling the toilet needs of our two cats. It looks better and cleaner than the two Omega Paw boxes, and mechanically, it works much better. I was constantly fighting the separating grate on the Omega Paw which would occasionally break free from the two retainers on the bottom of the box, which allowed the dirty litter to mix with and contaminate the “clean” recycled litter. At that point I could either try to salvage the box (a messy task), or start fresh, wasting litter and my time. The other issue with the Omega Paw was that it was a completely manual system. Until one of us got the chance to perform a cleaning, the cats were having to sit in an enclosed box with cat waste at their feet. And it didn’t take long for the odor from the boxes to be noticeable. The Fumoi unit performs a cleaning cycle after each usage. There is a 6 minute wait time before the cycle starts to allow the waste to solidify a bit before the cycle begins, which Fumoi claim helps keep the litter box cleaner. This wait time seems right for our two cats. Unless we happen to check the box in the time between the cat’s usage and the cleaning cycle, it’s great to pass by the box and see a nice even base of clean litter in the box and no noticeable odor! It took the two cats a few days to fully accept the new box. One was skittish around the box; it took her a while to get used the noise of the cleaning cycle. For the other cat, the cleaning noises raised her curiosity, and she’d stick her head into the box, triggering the infrared detector and temporarily pausing the cleaning cycle. These behaviors faded quickly. They started actively using the box on day one, and within a few days, they seemed completely acclimated to the new box. We’ve had a couple of very minor issues with the litter box, but they were never show stoppers, and minor frustrations until we learned how to work around them. First the collection tray. You line this collection tray with a plastic bag. Fumoi provided two small rolls of liner bags. They have drawstring ties on the top and are the same diameter as a conventional 13 gallon drawstring trash bag. They are not nearly as deep as a 13 gallon trash bag. You run the drawstring part around the four outside walls of the collection tray. You then make sure to push any access liner film into the interior of the tray. If you allow too much film to stay on the top edge of the tray, you will find it difficult to close the tray, and yo may cause the liner to tear, making waste removal difficult and requiring additional cleanup. Also, if you don’t push the collection tray completely in, you don’t engage a safety switch, and then the Fumoi generates an error message and stops working, as it thinks the collection tray is missing. You can use a 13 gallon drawstring trash bag as a liner if you don’t want to special purchase liner bags, but as they are at least twice as deep as the custom liners they provide, you have to be even more careful in installing the liner and sliding in the tray to prevent jams or bag tears. The other issue involved the first time I had to do a full cleaning. Disassembly and reassembly of the litter box is pretty straightforward. There is one part that Fumoi call the “litter tray” - it is a rectangular piece made from silicone and polymer fabric that sits in the bottom of the rotating drum when it sits in its waiting position. The litter sits on top of this flexible, drainable tray and there is an oblong slot in the drum underneath that allows liquid waste to enter the collection tray. You need to remove this flexible tray a couple times per month and give it a good cleaning with soap and water. Not a problem, but the user manual we received has no instructions on how to re-insert the tray into the drum when done cleaning it. It took me a couple of tries to figure it out. Until I figured this retention system out, the tray would fall out when the drum rotated to the cleaning position, and I usually ended up with a cleaning stoppage due to a sensor alarm, and I would find that the tray had come away from the drum. It takes a bit of patience and practice to install the tray so that it stays in place. The user manual does not do a great job of describing the tray removal and replacement procedures and/or the things to watch out for. The iOS Tuya application works well in regards to the needed basic functions. I can tell which cat is using the box at any cycle as it reports their body weights fairly accurately at 10.0 and 11.0 pounds respectively. I’d like for the app to use this weight discrepancy to “ID” which cat went to the bathroom for each recorded go. It may be capable of performing this logic already, but I haven’t figured how to do so yet. Other than exhibiting these minor correctable issues, the Fumoi has been performing flawlessly and has been a godsend! The cat box area looks and smells cleaner, and maintenance is so much simpler. Every 2 to 3 days I pull the collection tray out, zip up the old liner, toss it in the trash, and install a new liner. Every two weeks or so, I check the drum and sensors to make sure there are no dirty sensors or clumps stuck to the drum. If necessary, I’ll dump the remaining litter, and remove, clean and re-install the litter tray. Our cat box is much less odorous, looks neat, and requires less material, time and effort to achieve this improved litter box “presence”. We are delighted with this new tool!

My cat and I both love it!!!
An amazing litter box at a very reasonable price! My cat got comfortable using it right away, and it works perfectly and quietly. It has made my life so much easier. I love the customizable atmosphere lighting, and one of my favorite features is that the litter box immediately stops spinning when it detects motion, which adds an extra layer of safety and peace of mind. It's also very easy to disassemble and clean. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it!

Easy to Use & My Cat Loves It!
I’m honestly really impressed with this automatic litter box! Setup was simple, and the app control makes everything super convenient. The self-cleaning feature works great and keeps the litter box much cleaner than a regular one. My cat adjusted to it quickly and seems very comfortable using it. I also love the safety sensors because they give me peace of mind when my cat is inside. The removable liner makes cleaning easy, and the included garbage bags were a nice bonus. It’s quiet, modern-looking, and helps reduce odor a lot. Perfect for busy cat owners or homes with multiple cats. Definitely worth it!

curious cat-safe
Only had the litter box and the cat together for 36 hours (I set this up for her in our new place) but I feel a review is already in order. 1) easy to set up. The whole machine is lighter than the bag of litter, and it took me maybe ten minutes to get it assembled and situated. App was a little more difficult to set up but once set up, it’s pretty easy to use. 2) the anti-pinch function works. My kitty is very curious and once it started turning she just had to stick her head in to see what was going on (video included). The machine immediately stopped. Six stars just for that. 3) the automation didn’t work the first time kitty used it but the manual clean function from the app did. I then reset the machine using the app and the automation is working now. 4) I may suggest a wait longer than the six minute default so that the “sample” is completely dry before it tumbles, otherwise it seems to get stuck to the walls a bit. Otherwise it does exactly what it’s supposed to. 5) my kitty had no problem using this, even after seeing it do a self-clean. I switched her from an enclosed litter box, haven’t used open-top in years, so that may have helped. 6) the cord is about 5 feet long so might be a little short if you’re trying to tuck this out of the way. The whole thing is a little bigger than I thought it would be but it doesn’t look like a litter box which is nice. 7) the entrance hole is 13” off the ground. My kitty is older so I put down a box of canned soda to use as a step stool until I get a proper one, which is working just fine for now. 8) the weigh feature includes the weight of the litter, so not particularly accurate. She just went to the vet and weighed in at 13.5, app says she’s 17.8. Not sure if there’s a way to “tare” the scale. I was a little worried that it wouldn’t work or she wouldn’t take to it but neither of those things has happened. This is going to save me so much time and keep her litter clean, so definitely worth it. Also as a machines nerd this is just kind of a fun gadget for the house, and it’s nice to have an easy way to track her health-related behavior even when I’m not home.
