SH-XM7 mountain biking shoe fall apart after they get wet
I have had my Shimano SH-XM7 mountain biking shoes for two years but only use them for longer 3-5 day trips so have only used them for about five trips. The good: the vibram soles are very sticky when walking on rocks. Also, the material is thick which helps protect your feet from stick and rock strikes if you are riding technical trails. The bad: the shoes fell apart after a couple of soakings from heavy rain and stream crossings. The stitching from the uppers to the soles is very weak and the glue seems to wash away so the uppers and lowers are coming apart. I am trying shoe-goo to see if I can get a few more rides out of these shoes before I toss them. My prior Shimano mountain biking shoe that was an earlier model lasted over 7 years but these just fall apart.
