We've had our TickTalk 5 for just under a year and it has become an essential part of our family's "communication plan", keeping us in touch when and where we need to. This has been particularly important as our child increasingly desires to have more independence and the ability to range about our neighborhood. The TickTalk gives us the peace of mind we need in knowing where he is (through reliable tracking) and knowing that he has the ability to stay in touch with us whenever needed. In this way, the TickTalk also serves as our child's introduction to the "digital lifestyle" that we are all living now. Battery life between charges is good and the watch is quite durable. Setup of the watch and the parent app was incredibly easy. Customer service is top tier, with the couple of questions that we had answered immediately (by a human, no less!). If you've got an energetic kid like mine (and you probably do), I would encourage you to purchase the extended warranty, it's not that much $$ and it is so worth it. The one time we needed service, thanks to a bad fall, TickTalk honored the warranty promptly. The fact that TickTalk offers this option is fantastic and says a lot about how they stand behind their product.

Setup was straightforward, and I had it paired and working within about 15 minutes of opening the box. Call quality has been consistently clear on both ends, no static or dropped calls, and the GPS tracking has matched up with where I knew my kid actually was. Battery life is another strong point — it easily gets through a full school day without needing a charge, which was one of my bigger concerns going in. The band itself is sturdy too, and it hasn't shown much wear despite daily use through gym class and playground time. The app is easy to navigate, and I especially like being able to set approved contacts so there's no risk of random calls coming through. I also reached out to customer service with a quick question early on, and they were fast, friendly, and actually helpful. Overall, this has been a solid product for the price, and it does exactly what it says it does. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a simple way to stay connected with your kid without handing them a full smartphone just yet.

We have had the tick talk 5 for 8 months now, and we love it. Our 8 and 9 year olds can use all the functions with ease. The calls are very clear and the kids love playing music. The GPS tracker is a great feature not only for keeping track of your child, but for keeping track of the watch if they leave it behind at a friends house or somewhere else. The parental controls are easy to manage during school, etc and can easily be changed on the fly when there is a day off of school or when kids need a little more freedom. We had a few issues with the bands breaking, but Tick Talk helped resolve the issue easily with great customer service. I would highly recommend.
