Great for the occasional explorer
This is a good compass for a non-professional hiker etc. Its small sizer makes it easy to carry in your pocket or pack.

OK, not aluminum and not liquid filled.
This has a plastic housing, not aluminum like the item description says. It is also not liquid filled. This seems to work fine as an emergency backup compass but definitely not a high quality, trustworthy instrument. I bought this as an emergency compass for backcountry flying but I don't think it would survive a crash that I might.

Good, simple, tool.
I thought the cheap price would result in a cheap product. I was wrong. This is a solid instrument with a couple of useful frills but, in the end, is a good working compass that's easy to read. Can't ask for much more than that. I would recommend this highly.
