Best tool in my shop for fine metal work
I restore cookware professionally. Skillets, aluminum dutch ovens, whatever. I burned through a few motors on handheld tools polishing and sanding. The motors just didn't hold up. Nothing against the brands themselves, some are really nice, but you can't spin those tiny motors for a few straight hours and put a lot of strain on them.Obviously these Foredoms are on the costly side, but when you need a pro grade tool instead of a dremil , this is what you want. This is a heavy duty piece of equipment. You won't burn through it. It won't let you down.Immediately pick up the angle grinder attachment and put the roll lock attachment on it, and leave it alone. That hand piece will be your best friend for sanding and polishing right out of the gate. Next pick up the Handpiece 8 so you can use all your dremil attachments really quickly. I use these two hand pieces almost every day. Also, I was a little timid about ordering all this pro gear from Amazon. Seems strange ordering attachments from amazon when the parts aren't from the amazon warehouse. But it works. All these third party vendors that sell pieces ship them quickly. Seems like a tight knit community around a tool.Very, very solid. Trust this brand and company. It's ok to order it from Amazon. Worth every penny.

Disappointing
I purchased a Foredom tool from Micro tools. When it arrived it didn’t work. Almost 2 weeks of screwing around till they finally said I should call Foredom direct but they said they couldn’t give me the phone number. I found number and spoke with Foredom. After 3 calls they agreed to speed up normal turnaround but I still had to pay to ship a brand new defective machine to them! $26.00. We’ll see how quickly they turn it around. Very disappointing service!!

A beast of a tool, reliable, powerful, and quiet.
This thing is nice. My first impression was about the weight, they must add steel plates to the base because the thing weighs something like 17 pounds. That keeps noise and vibration down to almost nothing. I was doing a livestream with friends and they couldn't hear it when it was running less than 4 feet from the camera mic (which btw isn't a cheap camera). It has the power to do pretty much everything I have tried with it and I haven't even tried running it up to full power yet. I am pretty happy with this. It is made in America and the quality really shows.

It's great
Having used hanging flex shaft motors for years, I got tired of fighting the flex shaft because it was never in the right place and could never find the perfect right place. This unit stays where I put it.....until I move it, and I don't have to find something to hang it from. I've used it on three projects since I got it and I'm very happy with it!
