I also have The Green Witch and the Kitchen Witch, and this is such a fun series to have. Great for anyone interested in the concept of House Witchery, even if you know nothing about it (like myself). I came across this term on Instagram, and was excited to find that this series existed and was so approachable. The book itself is very nice quality as well. The cover is beautiful and has a nice texture, and the pages are a nice weight. This would make a great addition to anyones library, or a gift to someone "witchy" in your life. Review: Loved - This is easy to read and extremely informative.

Aesthetic and Accessible, But Also More Thoughtful Than It Gets Credit For
I almost didn't buy this book after reading reviews saying it leaned into "women belong in the kitchen" territory. I get where that reaction comes from, and I don't think those readers are wrong to feel wary. But after reading it myself, I landed somewhere different. The book centers on Hearthcraft, which frames the home as sacred space, not confinement. I appreciated the distinction the author draws between a house (a neutral structure) and a home (something created through intention). The nurturing/nourishing framing that sparked criticism describes human needs, not gendered ones. The judgment gets added by us, by society, not by the concept itself. What sold me on this further was pairing it with The Great Cosmic Mother, which traces fire-keeping and hearth ritual back to women's earliest technologies, calling fire "the tool of tools." Reading that alongside this book reframed everything for me: this isn't patriarchy assigning women to the kitchen but rather ancient, sacred knowledge that got stripped down and repackaged as drudgery over time. Reclaiming it shouldn't be regression (when done with integrity). That said, I want to be clear: there's a real difference between finding sacredness in domestic life and using that language to trap someone with no autonomy or say in their own life. That distinction matters, and this book doesn't fully draw it. Is this book a little mundane at times? Sure. But the subject is caring for your home, so I'm not sure how it could avoid that entirely. I do wish there were more visuals throughout. But the physical copy itself feels high quality, and the length is easy to get through without feeling like a slog. In a world that pushes us to keep our self care short because we're spending all our daylight hours outside the house, working, commuting, existing everywhere except our own space, I think there's something worth reclaiming here. We're sold food in boxes that need no personal touch at all. So is it really not a small act of rebellion to cook and clean with intention instead? We're doing these tasks either way. Why not make them mean something? Solid pick for beginners or anyone wanting to slow down at home, especially for the simplicity and no strict rules on how magic should be. A solid 4/5 for me.

Chalked full of witchy goodness!
I really, really enjoy this book! So much so that I bought a copy for my friend who I often practice witchcraft with. Its well written, contains a wealth of information and its very high quality (the price is crazy low for a hardcover book!) So far, I've made some of the potpourri pots which have been excellent and I've done a little cleanse of my home. I can't wait to make corn husk dolls and the cookie recipe! My friend and I are doing those on our next witchy get together!

Beautiful Book
Got this as a gift for my wife, who has been venturing into intersectional feminism, practical witchcraft, and the practices of older (non-Christian) cultures and peoples. I was surprised at how pretty the book itself is. The copy I received has illustrations of botanicals, mushrooms, and a tea kettle, with the book's title lightly embossed in purple foil (which is her favorite color!). I gave it to her ahead of the larger family celebration, and she's been reading it for a couple days now. It has been really moving to her, she said it's made her good-cry and get chills because of how thoughtful, gentle, and genuine it feels to her. She loves it, and I'm happy!
