Worth it!
We adopted our neighbor's cat as the cat. Dexter, was not wanting to share the litter box with other cats in the house. He is an indoor cat and I really dislike the odor of a litter box. My family thought I was crazy ordering a box so expensive however this is the BEST purchase I have made in a long time. Pros: overall quiet, contains the smell, safe, inexpensive bags and litter (just get a good clumping litter. Cons: no method to inhibit litter tracking, large, interior does need to be wiped frequency My overall take is that it is worth the money for the peace of mind. The picture included is to show how it can get messy and may need regular cleaning.

BEST LITTER ROBOT EVER!
Love it! I've purchased many different self-cleaning litter boxes over the years, and this one is the best! Easy to install.

Get it! It’s worth it!
This is a must have. It has made cleaning up after a cat so easy. The app alerts you every time the cat uses the litter box. It also keeps track of its weight. The litter robot is a bit bulky but if you have the space, spend the money. I promise you will love it. Whoever designed this put a lot of thought into how to make cat litter clean up effortless.

Technology quietly marches (spins?) on!
I had the ORIGINAL Litter Robot, after about ten years it finally ground to a halt. This Version 4 is light-years ahead of the original, quiet, quick, smart, ten times the convenience. Spendy, yes, but you get what you pay for. Our fussy beasts were skittish for a day, but now they are settling in and have no problems... maybe because it's quiet AND it spins... Setup was so easy-peasy my daughter had it going in minutes. Add litter, give it a name and program it for the various critters, and... DONE! Happy Eliminating!!

bumpy adoption/learning curve but ultimately worth.
I held off for a long time (however they have been around) on an automatic litter box. All the reports about them just not working made spending $700 on one feel like the lottery rather than a soundly reasoned purchase. I have 2 cats and had 3 litter boxes and it just became a lot to lug them around to get them to the 40lb box of litter or the inverse to change and clean them - so I did it. I have two young cats and both had weird litterbox habits that I didn't know about until the litter robot. One was only using the litter box once a day and the other was in it every 45 minutes during the day. Both were probably doing this since they were kittens but had no other symptoms and these habits were not visible to me when they had litterboxes in the recesses of the home. Although still not completely diagnosed, a prescription food made a big difference - and the data from the robot is what gave me the nudge to take them in. That said : 1) They say you need a hard clumping litter. What they don't say is that it also needs to be low dust - otherwise the sensors will constantly be dirty and it will never know how much litter is in the box etc, all of which is critical to it being truly automatic. Tidy cats clay clumping litter works fine from a clumping perspective but it caused too much dust so I was cleaning the sensors daily, sometimes multi times a day. 2) They say you should consider a carpet tray if your carpet is X thick because it might skew the numbers. The reality is mine didn't weigh anything at all without a carpet tray. If you have carpet at all get the carpet tray. All of the functionality and insights include some element of weight and if that isn't working right, it all seems a bit squirrely. 3) Get a vacuum attachment that can actually vacuum the sensors and plan to maintain the thing at least once a week. 4) Even with a lower dust litter, the sensors still randomly get something on them and start thinking a cat is constantly in there or complaining about needing to get cleaned. It's a litter box, which has dust and cat hair involved. At $700 a pop, being able to handle cat hair and litter dust seems like basic acceptance criteria. So for 3 weeks of my experience, the litter box kind of worked ok but wasn't living up to my automated dreams and I was constantly maintaining it. Then I got the carpet tray and changed litters and it's much better, albeit not what I would expect at this price point. Pros : 1) it definitely eliminates the need to scoop 2) it reduces the amount of litter I use overall 3) it doesn't smell at all using Boxie litter. 4) it's super easy to empty it. 5) it gave me visibility into my cats' litter habits Cons : 1) I now definitely have very specific cat litter needs, so less freedom 2) definitely requires weekly maintenance - and potentially cleaning sensors several times a week. It's one more household appliance whining about something. All in, I'm spending less money per month on litter (enough to pay for it in a couple years) and less time and effort keeping the house clean and my cats are healthier.

Can't go back
Definitely worth it, can't go back to scooping after this. Almost no smell anymore and I'm not even using the odor trap. It's definitely expensive but not having to deal with scooping anymore, and saving a ton on cat litter is definitely worth the price.

Completely Broke in Only 6 Days
6 days. Yes, I had this Litter Robot for SIX days before it decided not to work. I upgraded to this one and loved that it contained the smell better than my previous hholove box, but this morning I had a brief power outage, and that ultimately killed my Litter Robot. When the power came back on, the unit wouldn’t light up, didn’t restart… NOTHING! I went on youtube and the whiskers websites and tried all troubleshooting video tips and nothing works. It simply won’t turn on. Huge disappointment… Silver lining is that after I had ordered this one, I found out there’s a newer model not on Amazon that has cameras and whatnot, so now I have to figure out how to let my kitties potty in the meantime while I wait for a new one to arrive. It’s funny that my hholove one even though it was always super stinky, they still had power outages figured out, plus their app is way better… One of my complaints about the Litter Robot app is that it doesn’t log duration of visits and tells me how many visits yesterday, and i have to press a lot of buttons to figure out TODAYS visits and whatnot. I was super excited for this box too :( well scratch that! i just scooped out the robot, it definitely broke before the short power outage considering how much waste was in there!

Best Litter Robot ever
It operates perfectly. It's better than litter robot 3, because it's fully enclosed, and it doesn't clog up the sensors. My four cats love it.
