Be Happy: Just Add Water

Reminded me of my childhood, very engrossing

Make no mistake this is not a young child's book...it takes care and patience....wonderful for mindfulness. I use a water brush and blot on kitchen towel after each 'cell'...this way the paint doesn't transfer and I have had no problem with 'bleeding ' . Each page tells you if its water or conventional at the bottom left (you may have to push back the previous page but it is there)..if u don't want to concentrate and just wash over that's great too...but the best results come with taking time...have fun !

I was excited to get this book and when it arrived I was pleased, until I used it. I like that the pages are perforated and the pictures and messages on the pages are lovely but when I attempted to paint over the picture the water collected (even though I used the smallest amount). I am surprised as I have many other similar books (that are less than half the price of this one but also less pages to be fair) that all work the same. I am disappointed as I will not be using this book as intended but rather just colour it in as I would usually a regular colouring book now. Due to the water not being absorbed as you brush over the drawing, it causes the paint to go over the lines and that is not ideal. I completed the picture and will post it here. The final picture looks okay but compared to others I have done using the same technique it just seems like it is either the paper or the actual pigments that are just not right. The colours also blend too easily into each other making a strange colour mix every now and again. The brush provided is definitely too big so I ended up using a thinner brush from another set and it still didn't help. I think it is a pity because the messages and pictures themselves are 5/5 but if I can't use it for the reason I bought the book then it is unfortunate. I am going to try again in a few days to paint another one and see if that is any better. I will 100% add to this review next week.

I love these products of just adding water I find it very relaxing. With this particular book the pictures were very beautiful however the paper quality is not there causing a lot of leaks even with very little water. I have attached a picture to compare with the previous review picture to get an average of what to expect. The other thing I wanted to mention was the state of the book on delivery was very poor and if it had been for a present I would not have been able to give it as it had deep scratch makes on the cover and the rim of the book was bent and damaged making it look used.

NOT as described by the vendor as a just add water book. 30% of the pages in the book did not "work' with a brush & water, making this very poor value for money with many unusable pages ...unless you only want to use this book with coloring-in pencils and NOT as described by the vendor.

We have not completed the book, but so far 12 pictures don't do anything when you add water. Is this normal?

A few pages including the one above do not colour. This is the second book and both are the same exact same pages that don’t colour. It is expensive for a book which isn’t going to do what it says.

I’ve used this, gifted this and had it at home to entertain guests (children & adults alike) everyone loves it. Fun and relaxing and a real treat. Great gift.
