Manorama Yearbook 2016I bought this book a few days back and I was overwhelmed by the response of Amazon customer support team to ensure a faster delivery on my request.I must say that I have been following the Manorama yearbooks from 2009 and I have been consistent with this book because of the comprehensive contents that it offers. It has got everything that's important for any public exam. Not only this, it comes with 6 months of free access to Britannica Premium and a set of 6 ebooks included in it.Content analysis:----------------------This book begins with articles from Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, Nobel Laureate Dr.Kailash Satyarthi and other eminent writers. After wards it features a calendar of events with an overview on various national and international events. There are articles and short summaries about the news making events around the globe. The book also deals with advancements in the field of Science, Medicine, Information Technology, Environment, Geography and Space. It has provided a very vivid account on the advancements in the space technology in past as well as present.World Panorama and History of the world sections are more or less repeated and there aren't any major changes in these sections as such.There are articles and debates focused on Education and Career especially on the topics like integrated dual degree programmes as well as the success mantra for campus placement.After a brief section of quiz and general introduction comes the core general knowledge portion which is basically focused on the UPSC examinations. This portion includes sections focused on India, History, Geography, Polity (with various constitutional provisions and amendments). Polity section is quite engaging with details on judiciary, Uniform Civil Code, Lokpal and Lokayuktas and obsolete acts. There are discussions on various security forces both for defence as well as for disaster management.Indian states have been discussed in detail and it is perhaps the best source to update yourself with the latest developments taking place at the state level. There are a few articles on women empowerment and social justice which are very much in focus for public exams nowadays.The international relations portion and the Indian economy portion are focused specifically on UPSC exams, though they have their own significance in other public exams as well. Later portions include art, culture and heritage which basically focuses on dance forms, art forms and other crafts form. And the penultimate section of this book has a compilation of general knowledge facts. Last but not the least comes the sports section which in itself is a weighted component for exams.Verdict:---------I will not go for a perfect 5 stars for this book but I will rate it somewhat around 4.5This book is undoubtedly a one stop solution for all the G.K needs and serves as a ready reckoned for any competitive exam. But there are way too many ads in the book. Until page 179, the right hand page is filled with ads completely. Now, it is understandable that the publishers need to monetize the book but sometimes they break the flow of reading if you are in the middle of an interesting article. Some of the contents have been added only to increase pages and add to the volume of the book.Overall, this book is a must buy not only for exam aspirants but also for general individuals who want to keep themselves updated to the recent developments happening around the world. Personally, I enjoyed reading the articles on Euthanasia and Women Empowerment as well as the repeated portions of world history and geography that are repeated every year helped in a quick revision of the facts because we all know that once we get the latest version of this book we are not going to return to the previous versions and read a few pages. That's why some portions are repeated every year for revision.So, if you are looking for a perfect G.K book that has everything in it then you can go for it. Excellent product / book containing all the required topics on all the subjects. It makes a complete comprehensive guide & a reference book for General Studies for Civil Services, SSC & other exams. Even must be read by everyone to have authentic knowledge about our country, world & our surroundings. Good presentation, good printing, no errors. Size of fonts can be increased a bit, though it'll increase the volume further. Overall Excellent, because readers of such books want the contents to be of highest quality and that it is. Must for all, go for it very positively.

Splendid Book.............................................................................................The book is good for a general overview about topic ranging from Science, Space, Technology, History, Geography, World, India, Polity, Economics, Medicine, Environment, Geography, Information Technology, Current Affairs for the past few months etc..Polity section is quite engaging with details on topics ranging from Uniform Civil Code, Lokpal and Lokayukta, Judiciary Obsolete acts etc... There are discussions on our Counties security forces both including defece as well as that available for disaster management.Indian states have been discussed in detail and it's perhaps the best source to update yourself with the latest developments taking place at the state level. There is briefing about each country's history as well as the present government information etc.. in a separate section describing world's countries with their flag, currency and all other important information in brief.Yes it too have some interesting articles written by eminent people like Missile Man APJ Abdul Kalam, Kailash Satyarthi, An article guiding students to make suitable career choices especially on the topics like integrated dual degree programmes etc...The book has a free subscription of Britannica Knowledge Pack in a DVD along with it.There so much good to tell, all of which I can't describe here. Book is too complicated and very big

You'll never regret buying these. I have been purchasing these for quite some years now.Really really nice and undoubtedly the largest selling and the most renowned compendium on general knowledge and current affairs. I purchased this on discount and I doubt that it would ever sell at so low prices in any local market.It comes with a CD too.Whether or not you're a student , this yearbook is a great buy for everyone . Tonnss of meaningful information , over 1100 pages and discounted price!! Win Win ! :)Pictures posted to give you an idea about the vast contents this book has.

I am a regular buyer of the Manorama Year Book, every year, for two reasons, one for getting the current affairs updation and for getting valid Encyclopedia access, for another six months. MYB is one of the best Current Affairs and GK refresher books around and I can say with a bit of conviction that is the lowest priced of such books available on shelf. Neatly printed, with good pictorial additions, and of course, the Encyclopedia Britannica is a bonus. All this, at two thirds of the original tag price. Wow, Amazon! You never stop amusing me. Keep it up.

Very much excited to pre-order n receive the copy with in few days after its release,as iam staying in a very remote area....but only pinching thing is that the pre-ordered price is Rs.255/- (I have purchased for this price) but now its slashed down to Rs 199/-.😂
