Great tool
Ordered this for my husband for work and he said that it works great! It is heavy duty, and really helps him get his job done quickly and done really well.

Poorly designed, inferior to drill shank models
Honestly, I should have listened to the other reviews, but I didn’t. Now I am going to add to the complaint wall. First of all, I am a huge Dewalt user. I think I have at least one of everything the make in the 20 volt platform. The feel of the tool is nice - quality in fact. Robust, nice girth, comfortable - it checks all of the boxes for a tool that will last years. The difference is - you will not use it for long. It has one cutting edge, that is the error of the entire design. It isn’t fast enough, it packs off with shaving instantly, and it’s out of balance. Not to mention it is SLOW. I own a cheap drill motor version that works amazing. It’s 1/8 of the price, and it’s a lot better. I highly recommend going that route. This tool alone is enough to make a hardcore loyal Dewalt fan like myself start looking even harder at the world of red tools. They should be ashamed.

Simply Does not Work
I was really excited what I saw this new tool and I bought one immediately. Unfortunately, my first attempts at using it left me absolutely confused. It simply would not bevel more than maybe 1/32" of a pipe before the blade got clogged. I contacted Dewalt about this but they were no help. I even bought a second one just to make sure I didn't get a dud, an it it was the same. This tool has critical design problems and it seems like no one ever stopped to ask, "hey should we test this on some pipe before selling them?" The blade mounts in such a way that there is only a thin long passage for any chips to exit through the opposing side. In reality, it just immediately clogs and stops cutting almost instantly. You can then either push really really hard and rock it to get it to cut more (and not nicely), you can stop and clean it out several times per edge, or you can send both of them back and leave a bad review. This was tested inside & outside on PVC and metal pipe. Nothing worked even remotely well. Metal didn't clog as bad but the cut quality was wavy and awful. This tool was going to be a game changer for me, but man, what a fail. For now, just buy one or two of those cone shaped cutters that you use in a drill. Maybe in a few years Dewalt will get this tool right.

The dewalt reamer can leave a surated wavy pattern on the pipe edge
The tool would be ideal if it had at least three blades. With only one blade, it leaves a surated edge on the pipe, making it bumpy. This is evident in demo videos where the tool jerks the pipe around, resulting in an uneven edge. Moreover, this design causes the blade to dull much faster. They should have considered the design of the Ridge reamer. This is a significant missed opportunity by Dewalt. The harder the pipe, the more aggressive the shaking in your hand. They could have easily incorporated three blades to maintain the pipes’ center alignment. The surated wavy pattern it leaves is undesirable. Since the tool isn’t as aggressive as the Ridge, it takes a considerable amount of time to reach the inner edge. Even a simple pen debur tool like the one Millwakee produces offers a smooth and faster debur on the inside of the pipe. Dewalt should have redesigned the tool to include more cutting blades. It would be relatively easy to implement three blades. Another issue is that PVC pipe tends to clog the blade quickly, making it quite challenging to remove. On the other hand, the matching pipe cutter by Dewalt is an exceptional tool, receiving a perfect score of 10 out of 5. It performs exceptionally well and surpasses the performance of Millwakee’s version.

Not for refrigeration
Not the best tool for refrigeration work, but water works it will work just fine. Don’t recommend buying for hvac needs unless you do a lot of water works.
