Purchased for $42 in January 2026. I have officially fallen down the Home Assistant rabbit hole, and honestly, I don’t want to be rescued. I’m going all-in on a local Zigbee ecosystem, and these Third Reality smart plugs have become the backbone of my setup. At roughly $10.50 per plug in this 4-pack, they are a steal for anyone looking to build a rock-solid mesh network without breaking the bank. The setup was incredibly fast; Home Assistant picked them up immediately, and because they are Zigbee, they act as repeaters to keep the signal strong in every corner of the house. But the real "killer feature" for me is the local control. Our internet can be pretty flakey, and since these don’t need a cloud or a steady Wi-Fi connection to talk to my hub, I’ve put them to work as my "digital repairman." I set up an automation so that if the internet stays down for more than five minutes, the smart plugs reboot the modem and both of my Eero pods. I even staggered the restart times to make sure everything comes back online in the right order. It’s a total game-changer to have a house that literally fixes its own internet while I’m sleeping. If you’re getting into Home Assistant, skip the Wi-Fi plugs and just buy these. The possibilities are actually limitless. TLDR The perfect starter (or expansion) pack for Zigbee-based home automation. If you have a Zigbee gateway (I do via Home Assistant Yellow) these are the best smart plugs on the market. No cloud connectivity required. Setup is as simple as plug it in and let your zigbee gateway detect it. Furthermore these smart plugs are super responsive. There is almost no delay between hitting the toggle in home assistant and the lights going on or off. Being that these are plug-in zigbee devices they will act as repeaters for any battery operated zigbee sensors you may also have nearby.

The Plugin outlets work well so far, they were detected and configured fast in Zigbee on Home Assistant. In Home assistant they have several handy options. I am currently using 2 of the 4 plugs. You can plug 2 of them into a standard North American style Wall plug they fit well. There is a paring and On /Off button on the left side end of the plug. I use a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle and Home Assistant.
