Philips BT5200/15 Pro Skin Advanced Trimmer

i used phillips qt 4011/15 series and bt5200 series.1.no doubt if you use 4011 for first time or compare with local brand or other brands you feel 4011 is the best u faced.2.after using 5200 series trimmer you will change your opinion, as it is more advance than 4011 series one in an over all scale.differences between these two....1.with out cap shave: 4011 series one is smooth to skin as it have titanium coated blades and roughly you can use, where as 5200 series one have stainless steel blades which are little sharper and proper handling and care should be taken during trimming as it might cut you. but with cap no worries.2.with cap: 4011 series gives trimmer size 5mm height but 5000 series one gives 4mm.3.agility:5200 series one wins the race in fast trim4.clumsy:5200 series is better than 4011 series.5.size:5200 series is slightly better than 4011 series6.robust: both are good in their design...7.looks:both are good, i give extra score to 5200 series.8.battery:both gives almost same performance.both takes 1 hr charging time for full charging and gives performance up to 2 months even trimmer is idle with out charge. for other trimmers you need to charge whole night and only gives half n hour usage.4011 and 5200 series also gives quick and fast charge like 5 to 10 min charge will be enough for quick or emergency usage .9.grip:5200 series feel much touch feel than 4000 series, both are plastic.10.attachments:other than hair clip or cap, no extra attachment were given. but while cap increasing wheel is slightly different, as 5200 series gives rubber grip and feels good but 4000 series one is plastic.11.cleaning:for 4000 series you can remove blade and clean under running water and then dry. then only you can use it(not a water proof).for 5200 series you can do the same method or directly clean the blades under running water on blades only (which i did not do it. and they say it water splash proof).12.5200 series doesn't provide pouch and 4011/15 provides pouch.finally on an over all scale just go for 5200 series, well if you see budget then 4011/15 also doesn't disappoint you. 4011/15 comes at ₹1400-1600,where as 5000 series comes at ₹ 2300+.last but not least... trimmer 4011/15 beats other brands but 5200 series beats former one.

I was using a Phylips trimmer earlier, and this time I was sure to go for some other brand, given the poor performance of my last trimmer. But in my search of good trimmers with a reasonable price tag, this trimmer appealed me the most, due to its light weight and precision accuracy. So, here are pros and cons of this trimmer, which may help the buyers to make an informed choice:Pros:1. Quick Charge: this trimmer charges within 60 minutes as claimed by the company, which is very good in terms of saving time on charging the trimmer. The other trimmers especially in this price segment take about 5-8 hours to charge.2. Light Weight: a trimmer which is bulky is sure to leave you tired at the end. Which is why, weight is an important factor while choosing a trimmer. This trimmer not only provides you a grip for better holding, but is also perfect in terms of its weight, so that one does not feel tired after trimming.3. Noise Level: noise of the trimmer may not be visible when we actually choose them in shops, but it becomes an irritating factor when we use it in our bathrooms. While I wouldn't say that this trimmer is perfect in terms of its noise levels, but definitely if you can keep up with a continuous vibration sound level, then this trimmer scores fine on this front too.4. Precision: this was the main factor while I was choosing my trimmer. And this trimmer's ability to provide precision of up to 0.2 MM made me go for it. And I can definitely say that after using this trimmer, I can get a good feeling of trimming as there are no hairs which are not uniform in shape. This trimmer really does a fine job on this. For me, after trimming with this trimmer, it is equivalent to a clean shave.Cons:1. Sharpness of blades: when it comes to cons of this trimmer, this is the biggest problem. The blades are sharp enough, which is likely to leave you with minor cuts at the end if you are not careful enough. Especially if you are totally blind and are trying to achieve perfect trimming, you are most likely to be left with some cuts because of sharpness of the blades.2. Differential pricing: while Phylips sells this trimmer for INR 4000 (approx.), this is available at a 30-40% discount on e-commerce websites, and in that sense, it is a high price.3. Availability of Battery: the sellers maintain that the battery of Phylips trimmers can be replaced from service centers, but I have not found battery for my earlier trimmer AT620 and some of the service centers have also refused me to provide a battery of this trimmer, which I enquired before buying this. In this sense, if the trimmer does not work for 2-3 years, then it is waste of money vs the duration it works for.

I decided to buy this trimmer when I realized that my Philips QT4019/15 trimmer was not giving the best comfort while trimming. I was feeling my hair pulled while trimming and also the results were uneven. Probably the blades had lost their sharpness.When I started using my new trimmer I was really happy. It easily trimmed off the hair without causing any discomfort. I find the trimmer very efficient and skin friendly.The build quality is excellent and is waterproof which allows easy cleaning.The battery is also amazing. Just charge it for an hour and use it for many days. It also has an indicator which I had difficulty figuring out from the manual. An orange light indicates low battery, a blinking white light indicates charging and no light indicates fully charged.The trimmer has a good grip but I found gripping my old trimmer felt more natural as it had a curve to it. But it something really minor and may be a preference.For storage, I use the same white box the trimmer came with which is not that great but it does the job. It would be nice if it came with a travel pouch.Also do register your purchase on Phillips website for an extra year in warranty.Overall it is an excellent product and the best trimmer at the time of writing this review. Highly recommended.
