Can i use this toaster in the us? what do i need ?

There is different voltage used in the U.K as compared to the U.S so no, I don’t think this toaster will work where you are. An adaptor may work but I don’t think it would be recommended for an appliance such as this.

Are slots actually too shallow for standard bread slices?

Warburtons farmhouse Loaf slices don’t go down fully because they are on the large Size. We find a square sized slice is fine.
