Excellent book with great narration that captivates the reader
Excellent book with great narration that captivates the reader. Author has put forward several issues / concerns and also is able to highlight how practicing surgery is different from the life of an artist who plays an instrument perfectly well. Dr. Gawande is honest and convincing and this book has helped me understand the doctor as a human being more than the 'demi-god' who is expected to make the patient recover from any illness. Highly recommended!

A must read for everyone
Amazing book. A must read for medicos to make them realise what it takes to be a doctor. Also a must read for others to see what actually happens in medicine. It isn't quite a predictable thing and, it's not always the doctor to be blamed when things go wrong.

Good book, but received an incomplete copy
It's a good book but I found the final few pages missing in the copy I received. My copy ends on page 236 while the index itself mentions notes on page 239.
