Most importantly, this shelf is manufactured in the USA by Prepac. With that being said, the fitment and quality of the pieces and hardware of this shelf is much better than what I've experienced building similar shelves from overseas. There weren't any fitment issues with the pieces or location of the holes drilled. For the price, you're getting a great shelf even though it's particle board and "engineered" wood. The flatpack box it comes in is approximately 63 inches long, 7 inches wide and 7 inches thick and weighs about 60lbs, which is quite heavy. Easy to assemble as there aren't many unique parts for the brief instructions. As others have stated, use a little bit of wood glue on the pegs and mating surfaces to make the self more sturdy, not a lot is required, just a few drops. The shelves are configurable after the shelf is built very easily. Although the shelflets don't extend all the way to the backboard leaving a small 1/4 inch gap where small or thin items can fall through. Primarily meant for physical media in their cases. Configured for DVD's, you'll get 6 usable spaces per column with an extra smaller space as seen in the picture. For Blurays or Nintendo Switch game cases, you can get 7 or 8 spaces per column with an extra space. The shelf base is thicker than the shelves giving them stability and the unit comes with plastic feet that tack nail into the bottom base for hardwood floors. Handsome black finish that seems less prone to chipping verses other cheaper units i've assembled from overseas. It finally includes a zip-tie style wall anchor, important if you live in a household with small children or pets, for tip-over safety. As an assembly tip, the extra particle board piece you get in the box (which isn't used for the shelf itself) is actually used to stand the shelf face-down level as the top is slightly shorter than the longer base, helpful to have since the backboard is held in place with tack nails which are provided in the hardware kit.

I give five stars not because it's a premium piece of solid hardwood furniture - but because I think it's a great value for its price point, particularly at the discount that appeared on the day I committed the purchase. The overall quality is about as good as we see for these kinds of kits. If you've never assembled anything similar, you may face some frustrations but if you have, you're probably going the extra mile by using wood glue on the areas where edges meet, on the dowel pins, and most especially the backing. As the instructions advised, make sure you have at least the center shelves in place, stood up once first and make sure the assembled frame is level before you work on the backing. And I recommend you apply the backing with it face down, get your panels aligned so the edges all meet the middle of the sections you're going to nail to, and you must nail very carefully to the edges. Put your three backings down, and squeeze the assembly left to right to close gaps, use something heavy to weight down each side of your panels so they don't shift around, while you open one side of a Time carefully and apply thin layer of wood glue everywhere it contacts, but not so much it's going to bleed out of the edges. Drops would be fine. The particle board edges will absorb glue quickly so you have to work fast. I hustled laying down a glue layer first, quickly compressed it together and nailed corners, then nailed the midway points, finally making rounds until it's all secured. Using glue on final assembly carefully will make it structurally more solid, and the backing is important for structural stability. I ended up with a perfectly level assembly all said and done and I finally have a singular container for all my media.

I have only had this product for a few days, so I am giving it only 4 stars at this point. But, I have to say, this is a pretty good piece of furniture. First, let me say that it is bigger than I imagined. Of course, they give you dimensions, but until you see it put together, well, you aren't really sure what you have. It's taller than I imagined it to be. It seems pretty stable. I did not use the wall attachments that come with it, because I have it in an out of the way place, and just don't want to put wall mounts in my wall, in case I ever want to move it. I would not recommend using this in the middle of the room or anything. It really should be against a wall. The other thing about this is that it holds a LOT of cd's. This is really for someone with a large collection. I have filled mine up, with the exception of a couple of lower shelves, so I had a lot of cd's. If you suspect you have too much for a smaller one of these, then you probably do. I also like that the shelves are short and much sturdier than I have seen in other products. I do not think I will get the sagging that I have seen reported on so many of these kinds of products. It is about right in terms of the price point. Some reviewers have criticized the back panels, but they are pretty standard for this type of product. The instructions say to put the panels on with the thing standing up. I laid it down and put them on, which seemed a while lot easier. Also, since I really have this kind of tucked away, I didn't use all of the tacks that come with it. I think what I have will keep the backing in place. All in all, I'm pretty impressed with this. It probably took me two hours to get the thing put together, and that is taking it slowly.

These shelves are amazing. I put them together by myself in less than an hour--followed the instructions exactly and had no issues whatsoever. They were super sturdy even without the interior shelves in, and once fully put together, were even more solid. They were dirty, but I just wiped every piece with a wet rag as I unboxed them. There were no scratches or other defects. And they hold a TON. I was able to replace 2 other shelves with room to spare, and have about 400 dvds and blu rays with room for at least another 50 or so, plus a shorter shelf of boxed sets and other miscellany. The smell was strong, as others have mentioned, so that is the only downside. It's lessened after two days of airing out, but I'm still waiting for it to subside. Otherwise, I'd give these 10 stars if I could!

I needed a product that would not sit more than 1 ft from the wall, had to be under 55" in height, and had to hold 100+ blu-ray discs, steelbooks & Collectibles. With that very specific criteria, this unit met all the needs. It's important to understand this is NOT a bookshelf and shouldn't be uses for heavyweight items. It's fairly straightforward to assemble, but as other reviews have mentioned, nail guides would've been helpful for putting back board to avoid nailing through wall edges. It includes more than enough shelves and all the shelves can be adjusted in about 1.25" height levels. The drawbacks (MDF, unfinished back, lack of nail guides) are reasonable given being under $200 for such a large unit. One other issue is the item isn't packaged very well so some of the boards will likely get scratched. Manufacturer seemed to know this, so package includes a touch up marker that worked pretty well. Overall if you need to store 100+ blu-rays, video games, collectibles, etc. but don't want spend hundreds or have a traditional bookcase that takes up a large footprint, this will more than suffice. Storage capacity: about 600 standard blu-rays or 400 steelbooks.

I was worried there would be visible damage due to the low price point and some negative reviews, but they turned out to be in great condition and worked perfectly for holding our movie collection. They hold roughly 520 standard size DVDs. The most difficult part of assembly was definitely attaching the back panel. I highly recommend taping the panels into place with painters tape and drilling pilot holes with a 1/16th drill bit in order to avoid splitting the wood when tapping the nails into place. These shelves are much easier to assemble if you have an extra set of hands to help you out, not really a one person job. They're not the sturdiest shelves, but they're not the flimsiest either. Personally, I don't feel like they need to be anchored to the wall unless you're worried about children yanking on them or animals running into them. They're sturdy enough to stand on their own just fine. All in all, they're great for the price! I'm debating getting a couple more for the future expansion of our collection. If you're looking for high quality and easy assembly, look elsewhere. If you're looking for something cheap that will get the job done and look pretty decent with a little bit of elbow grease to assemble, these are perfect! This is a great option for people on a budget.

I recently purchased this wall storage unit for a collection of DVD's. The box is quite heavy and a little awkward to carry, especially up stairs, but once you unpack the contents and begin putting it together, you'll see that it is a quality piece of furniture that goes together in a hurry. It takes maybe 20 - 30 minutes to assemble with 1 person working on it. It has been fully loaded with DVD's for about 3 weeks now and there's no sign of sagging or warping like I've had in the past with cheaper units. I liked this unit so much that I purchased another one last week and it now holds my entire collection of VHS tapes. It came with way more shelves than we needed, but if you're planning to use this for a CD collection, then you will likely use all the shelves that are included. This unit is also very versatile and the shelves are easy to adjust. It's solid and sturdy and looks great with all my other furniture. Yes, it is a little more expensive than some of the other units, but you're paying for quality and it is well worth the price. ***update... its now 2 years later and we still love it! This unit shows zero signs of aging or sagging. great product!

Good when you have a ton of books/DVD/BluRay that you would like to fashionable store within visibility. Putting it together was relatively simple to do solo. Because of the size and bulkiness, clear out enough room to maneuver around it while putting it together. My beef with this bookshelf is that the shelves do not extend to the backing of the bookcase. There's about 3/4" of a gap between the edge of the shelf where it has grooved out troughs to set the adjustable pins. (it rests on top of these pins, much like a lot of other build it yourself furniture) but the shelf is narrow and doesn't extend to the back of the case. So if you have small things to display, or even something you want to discretely put behind your books/videos, it wouldn't work and would end up falling back behind the shelves. I imagine this is done by the manufacture to cut material use. Shrinkflation strikes again. I bet if I bought this prior to this year, it may have had full depth shelves. At that point, I'd give it 5 stars. Also it is a little unstable and wobbly. Once you get some books on there, it will stabilize. But before so... it bends and bows. Definitely have it on a flat surface such as hardwood! Or be prepared to shim it to a level or back leaning position. (it does come with a wall anchor... but who uses those really??)

I now have 2 of the triple and 1 of the double wall media storages. These are perfect to hold your movies / box sets. The image displayed is a little misleading though. I believe ours holds 5 rows of DVD / Blu Ray height media and 1 row of CD height media. But you can fit quite a few per row (really depends on the thickness of the box set or movie). Ours holds between 30 - 35 Blu Rays per row or 16-20 box sets (depending on the witch of the box set) per row. So a double media storage would hold: 300 - 350 Blu Rays or 160 - 200 box sets And a triple media storage would hold: 450 - 525 Blu Rays or 240 - 300 box sets This is solid but you will want it up next to a wall or anchored to the wall. Super easy to construct. I put all 3 together and each only took about 20 minutes. It took longer to decide where they were going than to actually put them together.

I am quite impressed with the design of this, I mean how it assembles was well thought out... only thing I really didn't like is those thin backing boards you have to try to nail on with millimetre precision. They need a better way to help align it without punching nails through the sides of it. Otherwise you should be quite impressed with the ease of assembling it. Now only issue is trying to match it with the media you have. I really hate how bluray cases are not all uniform so someone with OCD it drives me mad when everything doesn't perfectly fit in symmetrical harmony. Yes, I'm referring to steelbook cases and those odd shaped cardboard cases, season box sets and other things that make you want to beat someone with a club! Trying to decide on shelf height when one is too big and another too small, working out the math of bluray vs DVD vs cd vs video game optimization and uniformity, I can't take it... so I ordered one for each... ok, much better. Oh right, about the stand! It's really a great stand, I love it a lot and it looks great, feels sturdy and everything else, but the reference pic they use is what would drive me mad... if that doesn't bother you, then your in a win win situation, otherwise trying to find that perfect symmetry and shelf height where everything feels just right and one with the universe takes some time.

Came well packed. Setup was easy and fast. Took about 20-min to put together. Very nice look. Holds my BluRays, CD's, DVD's, VHS and Cassette tapes. Going to need another soon. Very nice and worth the money.

I bought this with a little anxiety due to past purchases of similar items, and their "too soft" material. This is a great product, was received in excellent condition and looks pretty "rich" considering the price. I took my time puttig this together because i'm Type A (and I was watching TV at the same time), so I didn't speed through it at all. Minus the TV and the odd beer break, i'd guess about 1 - 1.5 hours to put it together with care. It is very solid! The short shelves don't allow bowing from the weight, and fully adjustable to whatever height you need. I have my CD, DVD, BluRay and PS3 collection on this and still have lots of room to spare. Highly recommend this to anyone. Best bang for the buck!
