This stuff is a life (tank) saver!
I downsized from a 65g reef to a 28g cube last summer in preparation for a move. Because of everything going on, the tank was neglected. Within a month or so of neglect, some caulerpa macro algae had taken over the tank. It must have been a hitchhiker from the sump of my previous tank. I was literally filling up a 2 litter pitcher with algae every week as I was pulling it off of rocks and trying to get things under control. I was about ready to throw in the towel, boil all of my rock, and start over, but I decided to give AlgaeFix a chance. It took a few doses before I noticed anything, but probably late week 2, my skimmer started picking up a lot more "gunk" in the water. Over about a 2.5 month period, it has reduced the caulerpa by probably 90% and has it down to a manageable amount that I'm trying to eradicate through regular water changes and proper levels. AlgaeFix saved the life in my rock and saved me from giving up. I know a lot of people have asked if it will kill macro algae. I can confirm that the answer is yes, but it will take a long time before it wipes it out. I'm fully confident that you could clear up a hair algae breakout long before you decimate helpful algae in your sump. Great product that I will keep on hand for as long as I have reef tanks. Thanks!

Worked, but took a long time
I used this on my reef tank that had a huge green hair algae bloom out of no where. I read other reviews on this and was skeptical, but I wanted to do something to get rid of the hair algae besides removing all the rocks and scrub them. This is to be used once every 3 days until the algae is gone. At first it didn't look like it was doing much, but after a week or some the green hair algae length began to shrink down. It took about 2-3 weeks for it to almost disappear, but it did work and I can see the surface of the rocks again. After reading people's reviews on here it seemed that people were using this in fresh water tanks and it killed everything. A marine chemical shouldn't be used in a fresh water tank. The dosing on my 55 gallon tank was just over a half of the cap every three days. Read the directions and get the right chemical for your tank. I would have given it 5 stars, but it does take a long time for it to work. Still beats scrubbing all the algae.

Worked so fast, I didn’t get a before photo.
I cannot recommend this product highly enough! We have been going through months of Watteau changes, clarifiers, finger after filter replacement, and our tank was still green. I don’t know what caused it, but we could not get rid of it. My son’s tank then did the same thing. He researched it, said it looked like suspended algae and suggested buying this. The product was delivered while I was at soccer practice with my daughter. My son treated both tanks and I forgot about it. I went downstairs this afternoon thinking I would check it out, likely get somewhat of a before picture for comparison abs I saw this perfectly clear tank! Our fish still look healthy (albino tiger Oscar and plecostamus). My son’s tank is mostly clear (it might need one more dose) and his fish are healthy. I kid you not when I say that yesterday, we could barely see into these tanks. This product is amazing! Buy this, follow directions, and your life will get easier.

killed macro but not microalgae in reef tank.
I have been using this for a month now and I would give it 2.5 stars. I have a bad hair algae bloom in my reef tank that is killing my zoas and driving me nuts. I bought this ad used as directed with no real noticeable change other than it slowed down growth a little, but certainly did not kill the algae. I have RO/DI water, a refugium, and a canister filter running. My macro algae is all but dead, but not the micro. Lighting is causing the problem so I turned that down and only feed my tank pellets once a day to limit nutrients. The last months I have been doing water changes weekly to biweekly. Yesterday and today I finally caved in and took out the majority of my rocks, scrubbed them down in a bucket, and placed them back in the tank. Hopefully with yet another dose of the Algaefix and scrubbed rocks I will see a difference. I wish this stuffed had worked on the microalgae as well as it did on my macro. Inverts are alive, but my clam is not happy and neither are my corals.

Works on bubble algae!
Had a small but growing infestation of bubble algae. Took a couple of months - but it’s all gone!! Now I just dose once per week to make sure it doesn’t come back.

USE EXTREME CAUTION HANDLING THIS
I bought Algeafix out of laziness and desperation as I had been out of the country for three and a half weeks for work leaving my wife to care for my tanks. Due to the short notice of this trip I was unable to explain and teach my wife all the ins and outs of tank care. She was good enough to feed the fish as well as dose them with calcium and buffer. I assume there was plenty of over feeding also. So when I returned home the tank had become overrun with red slime algae and green hair algae. I immediately did the necessary water changes and adding the correct amount of Chems to get my water back to spec, but the algae had dug in and I was impatient. So I asked some others in the hobby who said to just wait and the problem would self correct with time and excellent water parameters. Still I wanted it back to showroom quality so I purchased this product after being told of how well it worked by a coworker. I loved the quick fix idea and the ease of just adding some miracle Chem to my tank and having all my problems fixed. Well this didn't happen. First off this stuff is highly toxic. You need to wear gloves when handling it, seriously you don't want this stuff to get absorbed in your skin. If you do you need to run the infected skin under water for 20 minutes as well as call a poison control specialist for care. Imagine going through all that if just a splash hits you as your pouring it into its measuring cup. Still I added this stuff every three days for about a week until I had to retrieve a fallen Coral frag from the bottom of my tank. That's when I had to completely suit up like a cdc worker to retrieve my coral. My thoughts are if this stuff is to toxic to even get a drip in you Why in the hell would I let my tank inhabitants swim in it? I did not notice any changes in the algae while adding this poison certainly not any that would justify using this poison any longer. Again I used this for about a week before I stopped completely. If it had been a miracle cure it may justify using this in an extreme case, but honestly it's better to just do your water changes and keep your parameters in check and the algae will go away on its own with the help of your snails and hermit crabs. In conclusion I do not recommend this product.

After 1use I can notice the algae dying in the fish pond. We had a big problem with algae but this product seems to be fixing the problem.

API Algae Fix Marine.
This product Algae Fix Marine has the same ingredients as the one for Fresh Water fish tanks. I have used both. They work very well. Corals, fish etc are not affected by it. I believe Vibrant is the same, but much more expensive. I don’t know why I bought such a big bottle as I only need 10 ml for 100 gallon marine tank.
