Wish I could give this six stars! Buy it!
This waffle maker replaced one that was about ten years old, it was time to put the old one out to pasture. I just used this one for the third time so I feel confident in giving this product a gushing review.Lets start with the cons: I honestly cannot think of one negative aspect which is remarkable in itself. Now the pros: Unlike our old 'nonstick' waffle maker which did best with cooking spray (and made cleanup a challenge) this one really doesn't need any prep with oil or spray. The waffles pop right out, I was amazed. Cleanup is simple and easy.About the 'smart' feature - it does work and works quite well. I set the shade to the lowest setting which finishes the waffles to a nice tan and completely cooked. You get a beep (more like a screech though) when it's ready to cook and when the waffles are done. The hard of hearing might not be able to hear the 'beep' but they could watch the display. This product is easy to store and handle. It's fairly heavy which I take as one indicator of quality.Obviously I have no idea about the longevity of this product since it's fairly new, if we get a few years of service from it I'll be pleased. One little tip - the instructions say to use 1/2 cup of batter but that will almost guarantee an overflow so I use a bit less than 1/2 cup. Now I can accurately judge just the correct amount of batter to fill it without an overflow. If you do get a bit too much batter the overflow 'moat' will keep it from making a total mess.

Hard to find
Have many as gifts, and everyone loves it. I wanted to buy one for myself but they can not be found.

Easy to use
I love the dial to adjust how you like your waffles. I love that it counts down the time. Wasn’t sure how I’d like only making 2 at a time, but it’s not a bother at all. The batter doesn’t stick, and you don’t have to spray it. And you just wipe it clean afterwards. Used it a dozen times so far and it still looks new.

I’m torn, plus an update
Original: 3 stars:I’m not sure if I’m keeping this or sending it back. The waffle maker I received seems to be super hot and burns waffles far too easily. I’m at the point where I can only set it on level 1 and even then, I have to remove the waffles early. The bright side is, they cook super fast. This doesn’t produce crispy light waffles. I think a flip maker would be essential for that. Rather, no matter the batter, they come out quite dense/heavy.Here’s an example of when I first set it on a middle setting. At this point, even level 2 ends up this way because again, I think this iron runs hotter than it should. The timer seems to mostly function correctly (some people mentioned it being unreliable). Mine seems to be more of a temp issue. That’s my current evaluation after a few attempts with different batters. One more negative, even 1/2 cup on each side results in an overflowing mess, so you have to be very careful by going just under 1/2 cup or it drools down the front, into the control knob, etc. I haven’t had the issue with paint coming off when I wipe the front with a wet washcloth while it’s cooking like another reviewer experienced, but perhaps with time that may occur. Trying to clean the knob with a toothbrush afterwards was highly unpleasant however. The plates themselves clean up just fine. I also recommend absolutely no greasing of the plates. The waffles cook better without anything.Update 1/25/24I’ve decided to keep this waffle maker as I’ve gotten very good at making homemade malted buttermilk waffles with freshly milled flour and this maker continues to be ridiculously fast. I will say though, I’ve gotten used to checking on the waffles about a minute and a half in - not relying on the timer. Which is good, because it is as another reviewer pointed out - inaccurate. I can confirm the sensor in the maker doesn’t always start the timer when the batter is in and the maker is closed. It delays quite a bit before starting. There was only one time out of about 4-5 cycles that the sensor/timer worked correctly. So, if you manage to master the perfect batter, consistency, and portion on the plates, you will most likely master the time it takes to achieve the brownness you like. This maker may not work flawlessly, but with enough human involvement, it produces almost perfect waffles extremely quickly/efficiently without the need for oil on the plates. Hence why I’m keeping it and will bump it up by one star.

Love it!
I purchased this when I saw an online chef using this brand. I have hated waffle makers in the past because they just don’t work. The waffle makers that flip the waffles break after one year, and we don’t have waffles that often. I love this one, you don’t add oil to the grids, and they slip right out! This is a photo of a basic buttermilk Belgian waffle recipe set right in the middle of the deal.I do wish the electrical cord was longer, at 31 1/2 inches to the tip of the plug, you have to be able to plug it in close to where you were going to be using it.

Great Crispy Waffles
This is truly a great waffle maker!! It has multiple heat settings so you can have the waffles made to your perfect crispiness. It makes 2 waffles at once which is nice. The waffle maker is also easy to clean you just wipe it down with a wet cloth and it cleans up easily. The screen on the front shows the time remaining to ensure for consistent and easy to track cooking process. The waffle maker is extremely durable and high quality.

All show no go...
I chose to replace our 5-year-old $30 waffle iron with wobbly hinges with this solid and sturdy $120 model from a well-known kitchen tools manufacturer. It is really nicely made and the plates clean up super easy, but after waiting longer than other waffles irons to both warm up and cook, it just doesn't work. Using the Medium setting, the waffles never set and remained soft and pale. Using the Med-Dark, the timer automatically set for over 5 minutes so I checked after 3 minutes because we like ours nicely brown, not dark. The bottom was was overdone and the top was pale and soft. I flipped the waffle and the result was burned in the crevices and still soft on the edges (Photo on left is bottom and photo on right is after flipping). Made several other attempts and got the same results each time. It's a shame because it boasts "20% more even heat for full, crisp waffles".
