Nestle Caro Instant Natural Beverage

This is a wonderful coffee substitute. The flavor is sharp but it can be manipulated by the quantity used and by the addition of milk substitutes and such like

We love the Caro. Can't drink coffee later in the day. This is so good. 5 stars. 1 star for shipping in an envelope (?) And not a box. This is in like a cardboard container - always has been.

Carol is a really good tasting coffee like breakfast drink. I was buying Pero, however, after trying, Carol, I am a huge fan. I love it and it taste more like Coffee than any other Hot drink. I really love the flavor and the price is always good.

I ordered this as a coffee substitute because I really don't like consuming caffeine during the later hours. I think one issue several buyers have is that they use too little of the product when brewing. I use a standard US measurement 1/8th cup scoop, about 16 grams if you are weighing it out. I use about 8 ounces of liquid, about 236ml. I boil the water in a kettle on the stove, then once the water reaches optimal temp I pour the water into the mug first, then add the Caro. I let it sit for thirty-seconds then stir. The taste is what is expected, roasted grain, toasted wheat and rye. When you add your creamer of choice it really brings it up to par as something that tastes exactly like a medium roast coffee. Add cream and sugar to get an experience that, to me, is indistinguishable from coffee. 10/10 I just wish that Postum was still readily available. I see it listed some places for upwards of $50 for a 7oz can. Now, this is technically still more expensive than coffee, an average can of coffee is anywhere from $4 for a 12oz to $2 for 24oz, if you choose generic Walmart or Dollar Tree/Dollar General coffee. Though, that isn't the point, for someone that is caffeine sensitive, even caffeine free coffee contains trace levels, so that would be a no-go.

This stuff is identical to Pero. Our family likes it, but not as well as the original Postum, which is no longer made (what is being sold under the Postum name is something else entirely, and very expensive). If you haven't tried Caro or Pero, and you want to avoid the problems of caffiene, this is a great substitute, and reasonably priced. We buy it by the case. It is made mostly from barley, whereas Postum was from wheat, and much more highly concentrated. I've learned to live with it after using the other stuff for over 70 years. It is a worthy successor.

Just the right taste in the morning, as long as you're not addicted to coffee, in which case you'll quickly find out it doesn't taste like coffee

I tried this for the first time with just one spoonful per cup, it was lovely, I have now upped it to 2tsp per cup and will be drinking this from now on.

Trinke ich sehr gerne weil ich möglichst auf Bohnenkaffe verzichten möchte. Ist mir lieber als entkoffeinierter Kaffe, kann ich empfehlen.
