Finally bit the bullet and got miswak after seeing an instagram video of how amazing they work under the microscope! And finally even learnt how to use it. Yes they stink when you first open them as they have been tightly sealed in an airtight packet. It seems the smell that you first smell is actually that of the brush itself and not some chemical (I may be wrong as I am a first time user). Pleased with my purchase though aH. Thank you.

Value of money I like it.

I've used, what we call a "chewing stick" since childhood. These are fit for purpose but incredibly smelly; I have never experienced this before. A natural product cannot have a uniform size but the last pack I bought had some very thin sticks and should have had a reduced price.
