SPAM Magazine?
I was one of the suckers who couldn't pass up a good deal. Five bucks for a year worth of Esquire, that could never seem wrong...right? Save yourself the trouble and do not waste your money. Ther is absolutely zero content in this magazine anymore. It is just one giant advertisement for stuff we will never be able to afford. I went 26 pages deep into the last issue(right before I canceled) before I saw any content. Sadly, they had "Mack" McCulkin on the cover and then did a whopping 3-page interview(in giant font print) with absolutely no real insight. Its as if all their writers are just basement dweller bloggers who hate their parents. Regardless, the magazine is trash and I canceled my subscription because of that. Just an overall disappointment with poor writing and really crappy content. And the worst part is that the content that is there, it is useless. What happened to this once great rag?

What’s happened to Esquire?
What’s happened to Esquire? Interesting and informative articles have disappeared.

They've gotten too political. I bought it for the fashion and the style information, not for leftist rants

Not what it used to be - for the worse
Cancelled midway through a $5 subscription because this magazine isn’t worth the price of a latte anymore, I guess. The last 3 issues were such a disappointment. The articles and interviews are so uninspired now. Same with the style advice. All the columns that made Esquire such a pleasure to read for the last few years are gone. There are way more ads than articles in every issue. Or at least it feels that way since pictures take up 3/4 of each page of “content.” The most insulting part is that there’s only 6 issues a year now, down from 10, down from 12. What’s the point? Where’s the timeliness? Comparing a recent masthead with an old issue, it looks like they got rid of everyone who used to work on the magazine and replaced them with the people who ran the website. That must be why the magazine seems like a shadow of what it once was.

I bought this to study the men's posing
As a photographer in study... I figured the best way to learn posing for men besides posing would be to study popular magazines... and this is a good magazine.. As I study the poses I find that there are some interesting articles I find myself reading. You will be surprised what you learn.

Esquire is really the only play...
Not to be confused with or classified amongst such boyish rags as GQ, Esquire magazine is the broadest sweeping ode to the American man we have in periodical print. In no other magazine will you find the compendium of practical information, raw investigative journalism, summation of one(usually prolific) man's life lessons (See 'What I've Learned- every issue ever), a great work of short fiction, thoughts on life, money sex, work, kids, politics, etc... and even what one might wear if one was a narrower, Ryan what's-his-face type fellow instead of a 5'7 275lb man-bear. It's hard to cram into a short review what they cram into an issue of Esquire and even harder to explain how others just fall short, but for my money, if you had to subscribe to just one, this is it.

After 20 years, I’m not renewing
Sad that the current editor is trying to run this once great magazine into the ground. I have been a subscriber for 20 years. After this year, I’m letting my subscription run out. The new layout is atrocious, with less content, and is indistinguishable from GQ. Not good.
