Relief for older and arthritic hands
I have these grips on several of my N frame revolvers and I can feel the difference between them and the standard rubber grips. The felt recoil is much less. I also put a set on my J frame concealed carry model 60. They are a little larger and somewhat more difficult to cover up but they make the little gun much more pleasant to shoot.

and SUCK! Don't buy
Returning these. They are definitely not the Pachmayr you knew. These don't fit, are too soft, and SUCK! Don't buy. I am trying to return mine to seller and got old/new stock on Gunbroker.com. These things suck, stink (like chemicals), they moved when mounted (as in I held the gun and barrel dropped a 1/4 inch), and the screw was no where near the right size (outside the grip over 1/8 inch). These grips are great if you never shoot your gun, want it to smell like Chernobyl, and want grips that fall off after a shot. I never gave these a chance. Tried to put them on, said no way, laughed, then was upset I spent money on them, and now I hope I can get my money back. Already got old stock on gunbroker for 20 bucks!! Please beware of these new Pachs. I hate Hogues, but these are like the sick and dying sister of Hogues.

.44 magnum tamer!
The new S&W .44 Mag I purchased last year was unpleasant to shoot with the OEM grips and only slightly better with a replacement set of Hogue grips purchased thru the S&W online store. On the recommendation of a friend I tried the Pachmayr Decelerator grips and am now enjoying shooting my S&W 629, even with the magnum loads.

Soft and sloppy fit
This is soft and feels good but the butt moves in the grip not what I was looking for for accuracy. Might be great for recoil.

Grip feels decent
Doesn't fit tight, have screws as tight as possible, but it still has small gaps.Doesn't feel completely sturdy, but it is comfortable in the hand on a s&w 629 classic.

Cant go wrong when you choose a Pachmayr.
It is comfy as heck. Perfect for my SW 44Magnum 329PD that kicks like a mule.

Disappointed
Pachmayr used to be a "GO-TO" brand for excellent aftermarket handgun grips, however the grip that I ordered and received was below standard. Ordered the Pachmayr 05148 Decelerator Grips, S&W N Frame Round Butt, black for my S&W 629-6 Performance Center .44 magnum with 2" barrel. As you can see in the photo, the fit was not very good. Gapping all the around the top end. Disappointed, I removed the grip and replaced with the other "GO-TO" brand of aftermarket handgun grips. 100% improvement over the Pachmayr. No gaps at all and very comfortable.

Excellent grip for Smith and Wesson 329 NG
First I purchased a Hogue grip for my S & W 329 NG 2 3/4" barrel, it had a poor back-strap on it. Then I purchased this grip, good thing, it fits perfectly. I saw some bad reviews where people struggled with the screw sticking out from the grip. I believe some people may be over tightening it. The screw does not need to go that tight, the screw is just to keep the 2 halves of the grip together. I applied a small amount of blue (medium strength) Loctite thread-locker to the threads and tightened it down so the end of the threads were even with the outside edge of the threads on the grip. I shot 100 44 mag. rounds (240 grain), worked great. Love this grip!
