I collect and display vintage glow lamps (neon, more specifically) and have always had a hard time finding BA15S and BA15D sockets that would work with some of my bulbs and display methods. I found these, and am pleased to say they work quite well for my BA15D based neon lamps. The initial fit was a bit tight around the base of the lamp, but the electrical connections are both good, and isolated from the collar - important when feeding 90VAC to a lamp. The mounting brackets and length of the socket are also perfect for my "collar mounting" system I use for displaying the lamps - an 11/16" hole in the base to accommodate the socket, and the the mounting wings/ears easily attach to the base. It's so nice to find sockets of this quality - and on Amazon, where I can reorder aplenty. These are well made sockets that serve several purposes - the best! It would be nice if the manufacturer or seller clarified what the maximum recommended wattage of bulb is. I don't like buying sockets and finding out the hard way that the new socket isn't up to the same standards as the old one. . No complaints on quality. Appears to be stamped steel with a nickel plating on top. Bracket seems plenty strong enough to support the weight of both the socket and bulb in high vibration environments with ease. The wire used is 20AWG, 600v, 105deg, FT2 rated. Bulbs were easy to insert and remove. Contact with the bulb terminals appeared good and reliable. . I like the arrangement of this bracket because you have a couple different mounting options on any surface. You can drill a large hole and place the body of the socket through the mounting surface, then use screws or rivets to hold it in place, or if you prefer, you could drill a smaller hole just big enough for the wires, then mount the socket right on the surface with the wires going through your mounting surface instead of the socket. I can think of a few other mounting methods as well, so it's certainly a very versatile socket.
