The BEST MAT EVER
I have bought ALLL kinds of mats! But this one really traps the litter that I use, the crystals so they get everywhere! I just lick it up & pour it back in best invention ever! It’s the only type of mat I will ever use for my cats!

I wish I could give this item more than 5 stars!!!
I had been seeing this item for a while every time I was looking for yet another kitty litter mat because once again mine had not met expectations and sometimes had also been devastated by my animals. What ALWAYS deterred me from buying this one (though it did sound/look promising) was the PRICE! $40?! I have paid that before for a mat before; but that was at the pet store and for a mat that I could have gotten on Amazon for $20. So if I were to equate this price to one my former mats, it would be $60, since that's what it is sold for in pet stores. I just wanted to try and find a good one for $20-$25! Well, I tried for YEARS! And while some of them were pretty good, they either just collected a ton of litter ON TOP to be spread to my floors, or they were a REAL PAIN to completely clean (and still didn't trap as much litter as I would like)! This one is SO different from all of the ones I have bought before. After trying SO MANY and forming a list of problems I had with all of them, I KNEW what specific qualities I needed.1) Design - All of the others were really just one surface, even though some had obnoxious twists and turns of rubber on top so the litter would be "trapped underneath". The problem with those was that they did nothing to get the litter IN BETWEEN the paws to fall, and any texture on them was not high enough to contain hardly any litter at all "below" the surface. However this mat addressed BOTH of these design flaws. This is TWO surfaces. One completely flat surface underneath so that the litter can easily slide out when you're emptying it, and the top surface is a "honeycomb" design of medium sized bumps that actually SPREAD (not uncomfortably, but effectively) the cat's paws so that any litter they're trying to take with them falls out and into the bottom trapping layer. The two pieces are connected on either side, but not on top and bottom so that you can easily make an opening to dispose of the litter when you pick it up to empty it. I have two LARGE cats and it takes several days before I really even need to empty it at all.Material - All of my other mats were near impossible to completely clean. They were either a bamboo or cloth material, or the texture design (while still almost completely ineffective) was far too woven to get a good clean on it. This is a rubbery material, with a much more spaced out honeycomb design; so if your cats (or anyone else) gets any gunk on this mat it is a BREEZE to clean off. I just take a Lysol wipe, make a couple of swipes, and it's DONE! It is also very lightweight and flexible; so even though it's large it is very easy to manage. I have my litter box in a very small space (apartment laundry room) and this mat is actually the easiest to maneuver I've ever had!Durability - While it is a lightweight, easy to clean, and flexible material it is also EXTREMELY durable. The quality is spectacular, and it is extremely well put together.Effectiveness - I've covered that somewhat already, but just how "the proof is always in the pudding", the proof with a litter mat is ON YOUR FLOORS! I used to have to sweep and vacuum every area remotely near my box MULTIPLE times a day! Now I can get away with only doing it every other day, at most!!Overall - This is hands down THE BEST litter mat I have ever owned or come across! To think the money I wasted on others because I didn't want to spend $40 on this one. Know that I know just how MAJOR the difference is with this one, I would easily spend $60+! Trust me, you don't want to hesitate while wasting time and money like I did!

5 stars all around!
Best litter mat I’ve found! My cat is pretty clean but he still tracks litter and now that’s he’s older he sometimes just does his business on this mat if he can’t make it into his box. This mat absorbs all the litter, all the pee, and is super easy to shake out and hose down. I will be ordering another as a back-up because it’s that good.

Not too shabby.
I decided to buy this cat litter mat not for the fact that I could capture the excess litter, but in hopes that my two cats would stop tracking their cat litter through my 900 sqft apartment. The litter literally gets on everything, my couch, my desk, and even in my bed! I clean every week but always within a few days the cat litter is back. I was using one of those cheap $10 Arm & Hammer cat litter mats you can buy at Walmart which didnt work all that bad when I just had one cat. My first cat has medium length hair and sometimes the litter gets carried around in her extra fuzzy paws but I never noticed it too much until I got my second cat. She is an AGGRESSIVE digger, and not only flings the litter OUT of my Litter Robot, but all over the outside of the globe and all over herself included and carries even more of it out into the apartment. I love my cats (enough to spend $400 on a self cleaning Litter Robot, so worth it by the way) but spending $40 on a cat litter mat was painful. I was desperate so I bought it with all the decent reviews and I thought it may be worthwhile to be able to save some of that scattered litter.First off, this mat is a decent size, bigger than the mat I had but a little smaller than I had hoped it would be. Second, upon unboxing and unwrapping it all I could notice was the AWFUL smell! It smelled really badly of foam, so I threw it out onto the balcony to bask in the sun and air it out.Within a few hours the smell was gone so I brought it back into the apartment, promptly threw out the old one. It was stained from a bad poo accident and was a pain to beat the cat litter out and wash (it never really got completely clean) so there was no way I was going to go back to it.I've been using this cat litter mat for about two months now, and while the mat hasn't helped my cat litter through the apartment issue as much as I had hoped it would, I can still say I am pretty satisfied with my purchase. The mat sits on the laminate flooring directly in front of the exit of the Litter Robot and I would NEVER have guessed how much litter my new cat was kicking out of the globe! So much that most weeks its filled the holes in the mat and sits above the top of the honeycomb. Definitely enough to pour back into the cat box. It is a little awkward to pour it back in but that is mostly due to the shape of the opening on the Litter Robot and the further forward I tip it, the less litter that makes it past the short fence on the opening. Yes both short ends of the mat are open so you have to be careful not to tip it backwards and I do think it would be easier to pour it out of a corner of the mat but I can live with the way the mat is designed. Its not a huge issue in my mind. Oh ans as I saw some other reviewers say, it is kind of uncomfortable to stand on, but I didnt notice that it was uncomfortable until I had been standing on it for a while. Its a little squishy when you step on it but overall the foam is fairly hard and really sturdy.I did have to clean it already from one of my kitties deciding to butt scoot across the mat leaving a smear trail across it but a little hot water to rinse and some soap and it wash off completely. No gross smells or residue and I let it dry outside. Super easy compared to my old mat, and a hell of a whole lot cleaner. It doesn't stay in one place as well as my old mat did, say the cats are running around they can pretty easily slide the mat from where I want it to sit but it doesn't happen very often and can be easily remedied.Overall I am pretty satisfied but I would feel better if this mat were just a little cheaper.

Absolutely Excellent!
I have 3 cats and the hunt for a litter trapping mat has been a long and tedious one. The Blackhole mat is the best by far that I have come across. It is a really generous size, and that means it fits beautifully under and in front of our large baby bath sized litter tray. We also have one under the Litter Locker that we use to empty the tray into. Usually whilst transferring scoopfuls of used litter into the Locker it would sprinkle bits of litter en route. This mat is equal to the challenge, holds on to any missed bits or pawfuls that might otherwise have been tramped around the house. It is a cinch to clean too with the bits of litter falling through into the layer below and easily tipped back into the tray.It is quite expensive, but it seems to be unlikely to fall apart any time soon (like our old mats did), so it is definitely worth the investment if you don't like hoovering. If you have a litter tray - get one, you won't regret it!

Expensive ... but works like magic!
This is an expensive answer to the problem of cat litter spread, but absolutely worth the investment.I use a very fine cat litter & for the past year I've had a grit problem tracking from the litter box to the hallway. Since purchasing this mat the litter has been completely contained. Even when guests meant I had to move the litter tray to my kitchen & stand on the mat to wash up, the litter never made it to the kitchen floor (Although I would recommend shoes to anyone standing on this mat for any length of time as what begins as a gentle massage for the feet becomes painful if you stand on the plastic mesh for too long!)I would absolutely recommend this mat if you use fine grit litter & are fed up of finding it throughout the house!

Was so pleased with it I bought another one for my partner's ...
This is the second mat I've bought, I got one for our two new kittens at my mum's house, it was delivered very quickly and has drastically cut down on tracking around the house, don't have to vacuum every time they use litter tray now. Was so pleased with it I bought another one for my partner's two cats (all housecats) again, has reduced the tracking from litter tray better than anything else we've tried, you'll never stop it 100% but as far as we are concerned, this mat does a good job and this seller dispatched very quickly. We are happy with purchases and I would buy it again, thanks.

Brilliant and reduced tracked litter
Outstanding product. Traps litter exceptionally well and has certainly made tidying up the litter tray area more efficient. The mat is quite large and I have found attempting to lift the mat and separate the top and bottom layer for deep cleaning to be a bit cumbersome. I now hoover litter up from the honeycomb design first and wipe down with cat safe antibacterial spray/wipes. I strongly recommend for anyone who's cat is a frequent tracker/kicker of litter

Worth it!
I've used numerous litter tray mats, and after the month of being utterly fed up of litter trailing all over the house, I ended up buying this, which is x3 the price of the other mats I'd purchased.Pros:- It collects FAR more litter than other mats do. I think due to the way its designed, it opens up the paws far better.- Its FAR easier to clean than other litter mats. One's I've had in the past have been a nightmare to clean, as litter can get lodged inside the mat, resulting in you having to literally pick out each small bit of litter to clean it, and for it to not look disgusting. This mat, opens up, as you can see in the photos. I can very quickly give a quick shake over a bin, and job done!- It's big, but not too big. It's important that your litter mat is big enough that you cat doesn't jump straight over it after exiting the litter tray. I found this tray offers the perfect size for that.- Its very good quality, you can notice straight away its different from other brands, and other "most sold" litter mats on Amazon, upon inspection.Cons:I haven't found any yet!Price:It's a lot of money, especially for a litter mat. However its something that will last you a long time, and will save you having to constantly clear up litter around the house!
